Jordan Percy steps out of the bathroom a while later, her gaze from swollen eyes pinned on me the second she does. I try a soft smile, inspecting her mussed-looking hair and the wrinkles in her clothes. Fisting my hands, I fight the urge to rush over and hug her. She still looks so…tiny and tired. But something stops me. Maybe it’s the pulled brows, the swift, sweeping gaze around her home, or the slim hand that moves…to the hair tie tied around her left wrist. “I… I found this.” I hold up the grey and white object I’ve been getting acquainted with for the last half hour. “Might have gone a little overboard.” The uncomfortable laugh sounds too loud in the small room and the silence between us. “See I… I even made two for myself.” I hold up the labels I printed after replacing the ones
