Chapter 1
"Love, you and Shieva stay here. Don't leave no matter what happens, is that clear? I'll leave Riegor for you and our child," Alandis worriedly instructed Shiena. They were going to escape from the people chasing them because they found out that they were a clan of wolves.
As much as possible, they didn't want to hurt people because they weren't like that. They just wanted to act normally like people, as if they weren't different from the people around them, but that wouldn't really happen anymore because they were now being hunted like evil creatures.
"But you're wounded, love, I'm worried about you! Please don't leave me and Shieva. Just let Gamma Riegor and Beta Akela handle it," Shiena pleaded with her husband Alandis. He shook his head and kissed his crying wife on the forehead.
"I can't, my love, as the leader of the clan. I can't abandon them. I'm fine, we'll try to come back as soon as possible and we'll stay away from people for a while." Shiena couldn't argue with Alandis until he left with the other members of their packs.
"My beloved Queen, don't worry because I won't let you get hurt, especially our Princess Shieva."
"Thank you, Riegor. I hope they come back safely," Shiena prayed while holding her sleeping child.
On the other hand, the people gathered under the leadership of Flavio, they were going to hunt the werewolves they found out were living near people and they had been interacting with them without realizing it. It was ingrained in their minds that the wolves were evil because in the past, their ancestors were suddenly attacked by these wolves, some died and those who survived clearly saw how they devoured and ate the people they caught.
"Hurry up, comrades! We can't let them get away! Use weapons made of metal because that's what weakens their werewolves." They brought various things made of metal because that's what his late grandfather taught him.
"King Alandis, are you sure we're not going to fight them? They have too many weapons made of metal, and you've already been hit," Akela said to King Alandis. When they get close to metal objects, they weaken and if that happens, anyone in their packs are sure to be caught.
"We won't hurt them, Akela. We just need to mislead them. Tell the others to split up and make sure no one gets hurt, both people and our packs. I'll take care of this for the Queen and our child," King Alandis ordered Akela.
"As you wish, your highness. Be careful here," Akela said and then left.
Meanwhile, Shiena could see her husband not far away while Riegor was watching the surroundings, but Shiena was shocked when King Alandis suddenly screamed.
"Aahhh…" He was hit by an arrow in his left arm, he seemed to stiffen suddenly and gradually felt weak because of the metal arrow embedded in his arm. There was another arrow following that one, luckily he was able to dodge it.
"Riegor, the king! Go to my husband, please!" Riegor immediately obeyed to help King Alandis who was sprawled on the ground due to the pain he was enduring. Shiena didn't know was that someone was targeting them and their daughter Shieva. She felt someone approaching their direction and when she turned around, there were already five people approaching them.
"Alandis! They're close!" she shouted to her husband. Riegor and King Alandis turned around when Shiena screamed.
"Leave now! Save our Princess, my Queen. Hide and I'll just look for you two, we'll stop the people coming." Shiena shook her head because she didn't want to leave her husband.
"But how about you, love? Riegor, hurry up! Let's escape!" But Riegor had to follow King Alandis.
"Go on, my love! Escape! Take Shieva away, I promise, nothing bad will happen to me." Queen Shiena had no choice but to leave, even though she was reluctant to leave her husband. She ran tearfully into the dense forest while carrying baby Shieva who was still sound asleep, oblivious to the danger.
"That's right, my child! Just sleep and I'll take care of you." But unfortunately, Shiena didn't know that there were people waiting in case she went that way. Shiena was worried for her child, so before she was approached by those people, she left Shieva in a place in the forest so that the people wouldn't see her and she would just come back after facing the people chasing them. She was ready, if she needed to fight, she would fight for her child.
"Are you looking for me?" Shiena suddenly appeared not far away.
"There she is, comrades! We didn't realize that they were freely wandering around with us. What if they take over our place and kill us all!" one of the people angrily said.
"Yes! You wolves are a plague, so we have to get ahead of you before you kill us!" another one added.
"You're mistaken! We're not hurting anyone! We won't hurt you ever. We just want to live peacefully in this world, believe us," Shiena told them. She didn't know if she could get through to the people in front of her who were giving her evil looks.
"Liar! You've killed many before so we won't let it happen again! Comrades! We should catch this werewolf and the others. They deserve to be killed!" Shiena's anger surged as she heard the people saying they would kill them. The fury in her heart ignited, and her fierceness manifested in her being. Her blue eyes turned red, filled with rage, ready to fight at any moment.
Meanwhile, Shiena's dormant wolf spirit was awakened because of that. A strength coursed through her body that felt incredibly good, it had been a long time since it last awakened in her body.
"What's happening that you woke me up from my sleep, my Queen?" the wolf inside Shiena's body said. The people, on the other hand, were surprised to see a change in Shiena's aura and felt fear and apprehension. It seemed like she had some kind of power and a red glow was emanating from her body.
"W-what's happening to her?!" one of the witnesses to Queen Shiena's aura was shocked.
"Why is she glowing and why are her eyes sparkling? Is she really a wolf or a monster?" A strong wind blew around them. It was so strong, it seemed controlled, the people were now very afraid of Queen Shiena.
"Reca, I just want to scare them off. We won't hurt them, I'm sorry if I disturbed your sleep," Queen Shiena spoke to the wolf inside her.
"Is that so? Do they look scared? Why are they chasing you? Where is King Alandis?" Reca asked in succession.
"They were left behind because there are people chasing us there too. I have my daughter Shiena with me but I left her in a hidden place to mislead these people."
"Don't be afraid of her, comrades! We still out number her and she's just one werewolf!" a man encouraged his companions and they prepared to attack Queen Shiena. A man stepped forward with something like a ball with metal spikes. It had a handle and the ball was extended so if you swung it at someone a foot away, they would surely get hit and the spikes would embed in the skin if you got hit by it.
He charged at the Queen who easily dodged him, Shiena's movements were fast so the man couldn't hit her. He tried several more times to hit her but Shiena moved as fast as the wind.
"Damn! She's fast!" he said, panting.
Two more of his companions stepped forward, now there were three of them surrounding Shiena.
"Queen Shiena, be careful with their metal weapons or you might get hit or hurt. You know that's my weakness, it might be better to just avoid them. They can't match your speed anyway," Reca advised. It had a good point so Shiena agreed.
"You're right! Okay, I'll just avoid them and then I'll go back to my daughter."
"I'll take care of that!" Reca volunteered. Queen Shiena's nails suddenly grew longer and sharper. She eyed the trees she could knock down to block the people so they couldn't follow her immediately. With just one swipe, Shiena knocked down a large tree in front of the people so they quickly moved away for fear of being hit, then another one followed.
