Chapter 29 – Apologies and Futures “Can we please have a talk after dinner?” I ask Julietta hoping to get the chance to uncover where this is all leading. “What about?” she questions while cutting the capsicum. “Us,” I mumble. “Yeah, sure, are you okay? You look a little pale.” She says before placing the knife on the chopping board and heading to my side. “Yes, I am just a little hungry and nervous,” I try and explain. “Why are you nervous?” she pushes. “I don’t want to upset you by asking questions,” I try and explain. “Oh, baby. I never meant to make you feel that way. I agree with you; we have a lot to talk about and get straight. Well, not to turn you straight but sort things out. How about we just enjoy the night, prepare and have dinner, and then we can sit down and talk. D
