Lillian's POV
"Lily..." William called out with so much concern and I felt my anger start to dissipate.
"leave us alone"
I sat down on the sofa nearest to me after Cassandra left the living room, William's ring still in my hand.
William came over and sat down beside me after placing the bouquet of flower and chocolate box on the coffee table.
"tell me what happened?" he queried.
"I... you... did I" I started but didn't know what to say, he was staring at me, waiting for some sort of explanation to why I was angrily confronting the maid who had just insinuated that my marriage is messed up.
'you know men, if they can't get something from you, they look for it somewhere else' her words reverberated inside my head.
She was indirectly saying that if William cheated it was my fault,
