Chapter five

Angela was discussing with Lina about her escapades with Miles when Lina paid her a surprise home visit.
It was a hot gist that had all of Lina's attention like her life depended on it.
Suddenly she wasn't interested in the food on the dining table anymore. Angela pointed out that her food was getting cold but it seemed the gist was more delicious and nutritious than the actual food.
She talked to her about how she has been on different dates with Miles which Brad knows nothing about. Lina had her glass of her wine in her mouth when Angela dropped the bomb shell of how amazing his s*x game was.
Her wine glass almost slipped out of her hand while splashes of wine made it on her dress upon hearing what Angela had said.
Her eyes lit up, and this time, her listening interest was heightened. Angela let out a loud laughter as it was just both of them in the house. She described how suddenly it has been the best thing to happen to her in recent times.
Lina interrupted to let her know she's still married so she doesn't go out of the line for the safety of her family and marriage.
It was a juicy gist that lasted for a while and they talked about other things before it was time for Lina's departure.

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have" Lina thought out aloud.
"What do you mean by that?" Angela responded.
"I'm sorry I brought this mess upon you. I asked Miles to keep you company on the day of my art event because of how Brad had been treating you. I was just looking out for you, for your happiness and I meant no harm or knew it would get to this" she continued.
"You pretended you knew nothing about this whole thing with Miles the other day at my house. I gave you every detail of how I have been messing around with Miles, you still said nothing.
Here you are telling me you were just looking out for me. How does that sound to you? Yes I have been having issues with Brad and his non stop cheating but getting myself in such a mess because of you is a no-no" Angela said fuming.
Tears rolled down her cheek ruining her makeup. She couldn't believe Lina, her best friend, planned all these. She was shattered because a baby which isn't her husband's seed was on the way.
"You know the crazy part? Brad has been suspecting due to my constant vomiting and we haven't had s*x in a while. I have ran out of lies to feed him concerning those vomits.
Did you know Miles is also a priest?" She questioned Lina.
"That's the part I never knew. He's just the art guy, at least that's how he presented himself" Lina responded.
Confusion took over Angela. She thought of many things to do but none of those thoughts sounded like a good idea. She thought about calling Emily to let her know what she has put herself through.
She picked up her phone and dialed her number just to hang the call a few seconds before it even rang.
Telling her mom was out of the picture because she has strict principles and core values when it comes to marriage and family.
Condemnation would be the end result of her mom and she quickly struck out that thought.
She set out to meet with Miles to let him know about the situation on the ground. Miles was confused when she broke the news to him but not entirely sorry for Angela.
He had just confirmed something that the priesthood denies people like him. That is knowing if he is capable of bringing life to this world.
He asked Angela to keep the baby. She was blown away and furious about what she had just heard from him. Everything he said at that point sounded foolish and unreasonable from the man who was rocking her world a few weeks back.
“You are asking me to keep the baby. "Do you even have any idea that I am married with two kids and you here you are asking me to keep the baby?” She asked Miles.
“I can take care of the baby” he followed up.
“Oh yes, you can take care of the baby by being an absent father, right?” she replied angrily.
“Well, that isn't going to happen Priest!” She continued.
She reminded him that in all of these, he never mentioned he was a priest and that he connived with Lina and look where it brought them.
“You don't have to put the blame on her, Angela. She only did a casual introduction about you and when I saw you, all my troubles left me. I tried to fight it, but the heart wants what it wants”, Miles replied with a broken and soft heart.
“I'm not taking that chance of bringing a baby that's not made by my husband to this world”, she said angrily and drove off.
The pregnancy was just a few weeks and isn't noticeable in her stomach, so it's quite hard to tell even if you are living with her. Anyone can vomit. After all, she's a woman. Maybe it's an allergy that suddenly developed.
Brad had just come back from California on a business trip when Angela decided to tell him the truth.
She thought about it for days and even had sleepless nights. Finally, she decided to gamble it. They retired to bed after supper when all of a sudden, she told Brad she had something important to tell him.
He was too tired to stay up and have a conversation that so he tried to dismiss her talks. But she wouldn't bulge and told him it couldn't wait.
Brad sat up on the bed when Angela began spilling the details from how she met Miles at Lina's art event to going out with him a couple of times before she landed on his bed.
She tried to put the blame on her for neglecting her and pushing her away. She continued with teary eyes. The night became cold and long.
Brad felt an anger he hadn't in years. His wife getting pregnant for another man was something he couldn't wrap his head around. After all, it was his fault somehow because of his constant cheating.
Because the pregnancy wasn't visible, he asked her to abort the baby because there was no way he was going to raise another man's child and divorce wasn't something he planned to do anytime soon.
He went back to his old ways of being a good husband to
his wife and made amends so they could have a family filled with love again.
