Garden of Eden (Part Five)

We continued running, ignoring her suggestion to kill the creature that’s been chasing us. She looks not so terrified with the encounter as if these things are normal to her and after that death situation, I don’t know what are her experience during her expedition, but for me that is not normal. I mean she must be terrified, at least look more terrified than me. Eh whatever! What’s important now is that I throw that monster off guard. “Close your eyes!” I shouted at her. “Don’t blame me if you get caught with it,” I said to her because I intend to throw a pop flash to blind the reptilian monster and execute a new move that just came into my mind. I clicked my fingers and produced my pop flash and... “Don’t look back and close your eyes,” I said to her and threw my pop flash behind... The i***t looked back as my pop flash released a bright light enough to stun anything who looks at it. She stumbled and fall onto the ground when she was blinded by the light, and I don’t have any choice right now but to execute my new move with precision. I only have one try since this monster will catch up with us. I produced a big fireball but just hot enough to hurt the monster, not kill it since it does not pose so much threat to us, so, I don’t have any reason to kill it. After I am satisfied with how big the fire ball is I produced a wave of flames to launch the fireball above it while it’s still dazed from my pop flash. With my pyrokinesis I used the big fireball floating in the air to make a bird cage. I ripped it into many parts and formed a cage. I want to call myself a flame weaver by now since with all the abilities that I have been thinking off is just creating many things with my pyrokinesis. It consumed a lot of energy from me so I it exhausted me pretty much, but I still have spare strength. Three more moves to make and I ran towards this i***t who looked right in my pop flash, and she is still blinded by the lights that’s been released earlier. “Are you okay?” I asked her and she just shook her head meaning that she is not and she is non stop rubbing her eyes. I tried to guide her while standing but she is too dizzy to stand straight and I wrapped one of her hands around my shoulder to at least give her the extra balance that she needed. “My bird cage will give us just enough time to escape,” I informed her and we walked forward to find some shelter. But after we reach a shelter, I heard another scream from above and I looked up to see what is it... and my jaw dropped all of a sudden. When I saw the Gerarda flying above us trying to grab us with its sharp talons and it should be noted that it looked very angry towards me. Argh! Does this need to happen to me right now? I lied to her earlier that my bird cage will stall us a long time but it’s just enough for us to get out of its sight but with this Gerarda coming into scene that escape plan might not just work for us anymore. I pushed this mysterious lady Mystic so it can avoid the attempted attack by the flying monster above us. I can avoid it with ease anyhow and anytime soon the stun effect would wear off anytime. That means that she can walk on herself now and not rely to me anymore. This is the perfect time to use my homing balls towards it. I fired multiple fireballs towards the Gerarda, but it’s not just some simple fireballs because those are smoke balls. It exploded after a few seconds and created a thick smoke midair which will confuse the enemy because of lack in vision and I fired multiple flare balls towards the smoke and there it lighted inside the smoke that showed me its shadows inside. I fired multiple fireballs towards it and these are my homing balls that will follow the enemy anywhere it goes. That’s about right and that will render the monster unconscious and also the other half of my homing balls are fired towards the reptilian monster and by the time they regain their ground, they will be the one that will fight each other. I grabbed this mysterious mystic by her hands and we ran as fast as we could to escape both of them and find some shelter that will hide us from those monsters and to take some rest. I am thankful that my brain is working efficiently this time, and we escaped that tight situation even with her being such an i***t. I mean who looks on a flash bang? Only an i***t will do that. We find a group of large leaves that will provide us some cover and there we hid ourselves inside and we sat on the ground and catch our breath to gain some strength. I looked at her rubbing her head, and I am not wondering anymore why is she in that situation earlier. Even in human world, a wandered with that foolishness will not survive long in the wilderness. That’s how it is. You must be alert at all times and knows how to sense danger, but she, she does not have that. “What’s your name?” I asked the mysterious mystic. She looked at me while she still rubbing her head. “I’m Mirana, you?” she asked me back. “Amber, nice to meet you,” I said and I offered my hand so we can shake hands. She accepted it and we show our common courtesy with each other. “By the way what are you?” I asked her and she just stare at me blankly. “Oh, that’s a weird question, sorry for that, what I mean is what kind are you from?” I restated my statement and she blinked a couple of times. “Oh, I’m an elf from the other lands, specifically our kids are called the wandering elves,” she said and I was amazed. “Our kind does not have a permanent home and back to my country we don’t just stay in one place, we move yearly, and I don’t know the reason why, maybe to avoid danger. Who know? My parents did not tell, why,” she explained. “As for me, I have a dream to explore the whole realm, and then I joined this group of explorers that’s main goal is to gather as much information as they could, it was not a problem joining their group but the only problem is we are all on our own, and I don’t have much experience. I just started later this year and I was tasked to find where are Siklab and Bakunawa,” she added almost telling me her life story. It did not bother me as much, because I enjoyed listening to her. “I will live up to my kind’s name you see,” she said stating her point and I understand that. “Oh, I see, that’s great for you,” I replied. “So, what are you going to do right now?” I asked. “Follow you obviously,” she said. “I mean after getting out of this forest,” I clarified my questions towards her. “You said that I will come with you,” she reminded me and I was prompted with that. I remember it clearly after I heard Bakunawa and Siklab’s name. I really can’t control my actions when my geeky side took over my body. I offered her protection and invited her to join my group so I can also witness the information that she will gather about the two dragon gods. “Oh, I see,” I said. “Then cooperate with me finding the other side of this forest,” I emphasized this sentence to her after what she did that almost got us killed from those monsters, I mean not me just her but I can’t abandon a living being, if I know that I can do something to help them. “You, why are you in this forest?” she asked me and I was taken aback from my thoughts and I looked at her. Should I tell her? “You will find out once we get out here,” that’s the only thing that I said. “What kind are you?” she asked again. “Let’s say that I am just a native here,” I lie because I don’t want her to find out about my importance and inform the whole realm. I don’t want to assume that our kind is known world wide but it is still good to play this safe. “Ookay,” she said and I stood up and offered her my hands so she can stand up. “Now let’s go the sun is setting soon and I don’t want to be here in the dark,” I told her while I pull her up so she can stand up. I only have one move to create, so this will be so easy for me right now to improvise but escaping this forest, is not looking so good. It’s so thick and I don’t know where direction should I go on how lush the vegetation is. There are tracks but only a few and it leaded me to only dead ends but no exits. We got out from this big leaves that helped us to rest for a moment and I looked around to see if the area is clear. I walked out and told Mirana, if I remember her name correctly. Good, we lost those monsters. That’s good, my future is looking so good right now. As the surroundings look so peaceful. I looked back to see Mirana carefully stepping out. “You know you are a good fire user,” she told me and I appreciate that. I don’t want to tell her that I am just a novice since I will look so boastful if I tell her that. “Thank you,” that’s what I just told her as we walk forward. There are a group of thick leaves that block the way so I shove it away. What welcomed us took our souls away from our body. A pack of predators are screeching at us. -The Phoenix’s Maiden-
