Chapter 4 The unplanned reunion Moon

"You bastards, let go of me!" I kept on screaming but it seemed like it was just falling on deaf ears.

But I ain't the type to give up easily and so, I mustered up all the courage I have and bit into the man's shoulder.

And to say I instantly regretted it is an understatement of the year.

His clothes seemed to have not been washed since the invention of detergent and they seemed to have some sort of coppery taste to it or is it just me.

I think I would have to keep on brushing my teeth for the rest of my life in order to get that taste away or better yet, get all of the teeth replaced. If only I could do the same for the tongue as well.

"You b***h, how dare you try to bite me" the huge man curses at me but still didn't let go of me.

I really did thought that the impact of my bite would have been enough to make me flinch and he would let go of me for a while and that would have given me ample time to escape. But he did not even look like he has been bitten at all.

A normal human being would have surely felt the impact but he didn't seem like one of you ask me.

And now, all I earned for myself was being held more tighter.

Seems there is no escape for me then.

So, I resorted to what every captive does in this situation, call out for help.

Just closed to an alley, the car came to a halt which made me look up from what I was doing on my phone.

Duke, my Beta and sometimes, my seasonal driver looked up at the front mirror. I only let him drive me when we are having someone important and confidential stuffs to deal with and this trip, is one of them.

He is a tough built athlete almost like me but there would me none as powerful as me, that has already been established when I take him down whenever we spar but he could be considered the second powerful after me.

His father was the Beta to my father and just like how I took the role of my father, he took his. He is the only person I have close to a friend in this universe as I don't have time for making friends, only acquaintance.

"Pardon me for asking my Alpha, but why have we come to this place, I thought you already have what you wanted now, so why coming back here?" he asks.

This old alley here holds great importance to me. It's the only place that I get peace whenever I want to stay away from it all. It's so close to the forest and that makes it alot easier for me when I want to shift.

It has been long since I last visited here but for some reasons still not yet clear to me as well, I felt the urge to be here today.

I had to cancel two of my meetings for that.

Moon goddess, I just pray it is worth it.

"You won't understand" that's all I said to him and open the passenger's door.

As soon as I step out, I let the cool breeze hit my face.

It is still as soothing as ever.

So cool and mushy.

But something didn't feel right and I could feel my senses heightening to find the cause of the alert.

Rogues!!!

How dare they evade my territory.

But then

"Help! Help me!! H...uhmm" then the voice when muffled.

I took one sniff in the air and I realized it was a human.

They are also hunting humans as well and that too, in my territory.

I wanted to shift that instant and tear them to pieces but then I remember the human would also be there.

And for that, I would have to use a more civilized way.

Without thinking much about it, I strode into the dark abyss.

All the memories kept flooding back to me and most of them are good but I just shun it away. There are important matters to deal with now.

I could feel them drift away and so, I picked up my phase before they get to the forest fire if they do so, I would have to shift in front of the human and that would break certain protocols as we have all agreed that humans should not come to know of our existence, except when necessary.

From the distance, I could hear the woman's voice pleading with them.

"I will pay back the money, please let me go! I will definitely find a way to pay you back! I promise" she keeps on pleading.

From what I understood, she owes them money and they are here to collect it. But I don't think they would be ready to let go of her right now. I'm sure she would be their next savouring dinner.

And something about her scent felt rather familiar but I couldn't pinpoint where I knew it before.

"Now, now, you think you can pay us back five million dollars! I thought you said you were no longer part of the Adam's family?, So how are you going to pay us back?" the filthy rogue mocked her.

The Adam's family?!.

Just by hearing that name, it made me quicken my phase and in no time, I was right behind them.

The filthy wolves were so filled up with their own stench that they didn't even feel me coming.

The woman on his shoulder was the first to notice me.

"Help!!!" she cries out to me while lifting up her face and that made the wolves attention caught back to me.

"You... who the hell are you?" The huge one amongst them threatened.

He really got some balls to do so for if he really did know who I am, he wouldn't even dare do so.

Just then, the full moon came to view and it illuminated the alley, making our faces visible for a few seconds and them it was dark again.

"Oh my goodness! It's him" they all cried out at the same time.

Yes of course it's me, their greatest nightmare.

"Let go of her and get out of my territory" I growled at them.

Even talking like this is making me feel more agitated.

If only this human who's face is the only one I still didn't get to see clearly wasn't here, then they would have faced my true wrath.

They started murmuring but I could hear them clearly.

"We have been searching for this girl for over three years now and I don't think I want to let go now" the one holding the lady whispers.

"But...but what about him?" another asks, shivering.

There was a momentary silence after that and I had even thought they had retreated but then the huge one spoke again.

"Let's attack him, I'm sure he is alone, this would make our names go down in history" he says.

The smirk on my face widen by their foolishness.

Duke, who was right behind me since from the start but was totally unnoticed, moved. Every Lycan has a special ability and his is covering up his scent.

Some even have more than one, just like me but that I something to be discussed later.

He moved forth to attack and protect his Alpha but I stopped him.

"I can take down these imbeciles in less than a minute" I say and he knows very well I can.

They all seem to have a tough and rough exterior but that is just it as they are all not in good shape from the inside. Their wolves are as weak as a kitten.

Before they close even try to attack, I launched and in no time, they were all laying on the floor, whining in pain.

I had not intended to kill them as I don't want to taint my hands in blood right now.

"Now get out of my territory" I growled in my Alpha voice

They needn't be told twice as they scurried away with their limping limbs.

Suddenly, I became aware of the human besides me as her strong scent evaded my being.

No scent has ever done so to me.

I turned around to face her and now, her face is clearly visible as she has removed the strands of hair covering her face.

I felt every fibre of my living cells come to a halt for a brief seconds and then I was filled with rage, more than I could ever imagined.

She is the last person I expected to see here.

I had already thought her dead but here she is.

If I had known it was her, I would have just walked away and leave her to be feasted upon by the wolves.

She is the reason for it all.

She has ruined everything for me. She has snatched it all and now, she is back. Back with more of her lies and deceit.

What more does she want to take away now?.
