BETRAYED LUNA , A SECOND CHANCE MATE.

Lyra's P.O.V 4 years ago. Hum! Hum! Hum! My heart was violently racing from my chest and you could literally hear the thumping sound. Walking from my school's gate to the pack's grounds, I couldn't help the fear that was slowly seeping through my every cell. I was scared. I didn't know what to expect. I had messed up and it was a huge mess for me to be that scared. My name is Lyra Woods of the Porkwood Wolf pack and my Dad is the Pack's Beta. Logically, I should be a Beta wolf as my mom is also a Beta. Just like many pups in my pack, I expected my wolf to appear on my eighteenth birthday but she appeared four years earlier on my 14th birthday. My wolf's name is Nala, a very friendly and understanding wolf and we became friends instantly after meeting. When she surfaced, I was excited to be greatly favored by the moon goddess, and I was ready to share the news with my friends and rub the salt on my sworn enemy's wounds, Parker the future Alpha as he had not received his wolf yet. However, the excitement of receiving my wolf died shortly after my parents ordered me to keep my wolf hidden and to never let any living soul, werewolf or human find out about Nala's existence. Asking for the reason only seemed to infuriate them further and I could only shut up and pretend that my wolf never existed. The conversation never ended until I was promised a punishment if I ever let her out. Taking deep breaths to calm my racing heart, I was contemplating whether going home first was a good idea or slaking behind to buy myself more time before I was punished was the brilliant one. Whichever option I chose, it was apparent to me that punishment was inevitable because I had let my wolf out. Although I had reacted in time to salvage the situation, the damage was already done and many people had already seen her. I was walking from my final class to the school's library when I met Parker and his equally mean friends. Cursing internally, I tried taking another turn to avoid them but I was not faster than him and he tripped me, making me fall with my face kissing the ground and my floral short skirt was lifted exposing what was initially covered. That was it, the last straw of my patience was completely shaken when I heard everyone laughing at my misfortune and to make it worse, Parker stepped on my left hand and I felt it go numb from the pain. Tears streamed down from my eyes to my cheeks and I knew that I had to do something. I was sick and tired of all the bullying that he served me and now that I had my wolf, I planned on showing him where he belonged, and without thinking about the consequences, I let Nala out, barring her fangs and claws at Parker........ Lost in my fear and thoughts, I was startled back to reality by my Dad's angry outbursts from the mind link which nearly made me fall because of the scare and I felt like my ears were going to explode from all the noise. " Lyra Woods! " Trying to defend myself in between," Dad you know that I did it for self-defense okay? He was humiliating me in front of everyone and I lost my composure, letting Nala out. I am sorry. " I figured out that Apologizing earlier could lessen the punishment. Expecting another angry-filled tone, I was surprised by my dad's calm voice. " I know it Lyra. He must have provoked you. We are being summoned to the Alpha's office. Hurry up and meet us here. Don't be scared little princess, your mother and I will protect you. " Sighing heavily, I hummed an okay through the mind link and I hurried over. On my way, I couldn't help but worry for my parents and me. The Alpha was known for his ruthlessness and heartlessness. " Beta Woods, I heard that your daughter has already shifted. Why did you hide that from me, Your Alpha ?" The Alpha's voice boomed in the office and I trembled involuntarily. Without batting an eyelid, my dad spoke calmly"It has not been two days since she shifted and I was waiting for her to graduate before I broke the news besides, her graduation in two weeks. " Satisfied by my dad's answer, the Alpha motioned for us to leave and I released a breath that I didn't notice I was holding. Just as we were about to leave, the Alpha seemed to be mind-linking someone and his thunderous voice boomed in the room. " How dare you lie to me? I heard your daughter's wolf is an Alpha, how do you explain that? " Seeing my parent's tense expressions, some things started making sense. With wobbly feet, I saw my dad kneel before the Alpha and my heart sank. I couldn't help but blame myself. I had never seen my dad in such a miserable state before and it broke my heart to witness it. Looking at my mom to gauge her next move, she handed me a Golden bracelet and motioned for me to wear it with her chin. As if on cue, my dad started talking, distracting the Alpha while I wore the bracelet. " I think there might be a misunderstanding here, Alpha, my daughter's wolf is a Beta just like her parents and the only addition is that her wolf is slightly bigger than any of us. That must be a blessing from the moon goddess. " The Alpha commanded me to shift which I did and I was surprised to notice that my wolf had reduced in size compared to before, and I assumed that it was an effect of my mom's bracelet further confirming that I was an Alpha wolf. After seeing my wolf, a sinister and scheming look crossed the alpha's face, and a sense of uneasiness washed over me. " You have a very unique, beautiful, and strong wolf who will be useful to the pack. You will get married to the next Alpha in line, Parker Porkwoods. ........" Looking at the Alpha's scheming face, and the evil grin that was stretched to the corners of his lips, I felt like wiping away the st**id grin with a tight slap. My wolf was pacing back and forth in my head and I felt like exploding! Raw anger was visible on my face As much as I hated Parker for constantly bullying and humiliating me, I have never liked the Alpha either. He was a selfish wolf and as long as it didn't profit him, he couldn't be bothered to help. He didn't care how much pain Parker inflicted on me or hurt me. I had on one occasion gone to his office with a broken arm and a broken nose bridge, complaining to him about how Parker had tortured me, I had expected him to act or maybe, punish Parker but that never came. " Why are you always disrespecting your future Alpha? If you were not this strong-headed and stubborn, things wouldn't have gone this far, if you excuse me, young lady" Spoke the Alpha disinterestedly. From that day, I grew to resent him and on different occasions, I had thought of leaving his Pack. Listening to him decide my fate as if I was incapable of doing it, brought a pile of fury in my heart and I snorted audibly without caring whether he was the Alpha or not. For the things that Parker had done to me, for the pain and torture he had caused me, I would never get married to him. My whole life, I had been dreaming of meeting my mate and the second dream has been to get my revenge on Parker and I couldn't allow anything to change that, not some foolish marriage. Remembering how he had peed on me at the school's gate, where everyone was watching, simply because his girlfriend, Amalia had requested brought bitterness to my mouth, the thought of being his Luna disgusted me. "I Lyra Woods, refuse to get married to Park Porkwoods, the future Alpha of this Pack. I hate him and I hate you. I don't care whether you are the Alpha or not, I will wait for my destined mate, and if he turns out to be Parker then I will reject him in a heartbeat. " Without thinking of the consequences, I spoke to the Alpha's face.
