I led the way to the back of the packhouse where it was easiest to get to the training field, then paused, looking down at my feet. There was a patio out back, but then the rest of the way to the training field was all grass and I knew my heels would just sink into the ground and that would be an unpleasant experience walking there and back while trying to keep my heels from sinking.

“One minute.”

I bent over to unhook the strap on one foot, then leaned over to my other foot when I noticed Jullian standing behind me, watching my ass with a smirk on his face. I quickly stood, turning towards him, placing one hand on the wall as I lifted one foot, slid the shoe off, then did the same with the other foot.

“Why are you taking your shoes off?” He asked, with confusion on his face.

“My heels would sink into the grass.” I said as I turned and walked out the door, knowing he would follow.

Once he fell in beside me, I began to talk. “The back door is the easiest way to get to the training grounds. Just follow the path and at the end take a right.”

We were walking quietly for a bit until Jullian started asking me questions.

“You certainly are not what I imagined.”

I glanced at the larger male walking alongside of me. I could not help but smile, “Why, what did you expect?”

He glanced at me, “I was not sure. I knew so little about you.”

“Really? I know a lot about you, from the internet and stuff.”

“Hmmm.” I could tell he was thinking about something. “I couldn’t really find much of anything about you, your sister has a lot on social media, your brother, well being the future Alpha of your pack, I know a lot about him, but you….” He shook his head, “Couldn’t find much, even the few pictures I found were very outdated.”

“Turn right here.” I said while thinking.

‘Ohhh, so he did try to find out about us.’ Mia gushed in my head with a big wolfish grin.

“I expected you to react differently towards me.” I stopped and turned towards him.

“Like how? I am not the type to throw myself at a male just because they are an Alpha.”

He let out a small husky laugh, “No, because….well how could you be so okay with an arranged mating? I expected you to be throwing a tantrum or something. Especially after I saw you.”

I frowned, “What is that supposed to mean?” I know I sounded offended but I could not hide my irritation.

“No need to get all offended, I just mean most she-wolves would be unhappy with this type of arrangement.”

I tilted my head watching him, “You don’t see all that upset about it.”

He shrugged and began walking towards the entrance to the training field.

“I’m 24, I’ve had my fun. Besides once I saw you…” He glanced at me, looking me up and down, "Well let’s just say I was not disappointed. You are pretty damn hot.”

I turned away, looking out at the training field. I knew my face was burning red from embarrassment.

“Just wish you didn’t waste so many years not training.” Jullian added.

I turned back around to face him, “Just because my father says I do not train with the pack does not mean I don’t train.” As soon as the words were out of my mouth, I hesitated, not sure I should be trusting this stranger with this information.

“So, you do train?” He questioned, doubting my words.

“Yes, every day.” I said proudly.

“I’m not talking about a little workout. I mean really train.”

I put my hands on my hips, clearly irritated, “Our Future Gamma trains me. Trust me, he does not take it easy on me.”

“Hmm.” I saw him looking out at our surroundings. “Is he like your lover?”

“What! No!” I said louder than I meant to.

“Hey, its fine I get it. It just needs to end.”

I rolled my eyes at him, the nerve of him.

“No, really, it needs to end, like now.” He said firmly.

I let out a huff, “I have not been intimate with Lucian so there is nothing to end.” Now Jullian was pissing e off.

“The way he looked at you and glared at me, I thought for sure you were lovers.”

I could feel the chill in the air and I crossed my arms almost hugging myself, rubbing my hands over my bare arms.

“Come, lets head back.” He placed his hand on my lower back, ushering me towards the trail we had come down.
