Natalia
I avoided my parents all morning, which was easy enough. I skipped breakfast, which Lucian told me to never do again before training.
I had to at least eat something. Then we trained, since I was newer to training, they took it easy on me.
I admit to myself and very few others that I am in love with Lucian, but watching the two of them train, whooo my Wolf Nara and I were practically drooling.
I had seen Lucian with his shirt off before the other day, but he was sweating, so took hs shirt off. The way the sunlight glistened off his body made me blush.
He had all these defined sharp muscles like a body builder. He had his shoulder length hair back in a low pony, with strands flying free from all the rough training he and Brutus were doing.
Then Brutus stepped aside for a water break, he took his soaked shirt off, dipped it in the pond and rubbed his upper body down.
I almost offered to help him. His muscles were not as sharply defined, but you still knew they were there and with his shirt off, I could see every muscle flex as he moved. His pants hung low on his narrow waist.
His hair was dark and almost always had that messy look, it was, just a bit too short for a pony and hung in his eyes most of the time, but after he tossed his wet shirt to the side he knelt down by the pond, leaned forward and dunked his head in the water.
Pulling his head back water sprayed everywhere, then he pushed his hair back out of his eyes, His eyes were so dark in the bright sun light, they almost looked black.
As he walked by he shook his head, like a dog would, and water splashed on me.
“Hey!” I yelled, making him laugh. I had never seen Brutus playful like this but I liked it.
“Get your ass over here, I’m not done with you yet!” Lucian yelled. Then it was more of them sparing, throwing each other around.
I was snapped out of my daydreaming when my father mind-linked me. ‘Oh crap, he sounds angry.’ Nara said with big eyes.
“Come to my office. Now!”
I was not afraid of my father; I was his baby girl.
When I arrived at his office, there were his usual guards standing outside his door. They opened the large wooden doors for me to enter.
I thanked them as I proceeded to enter.
I gave a slight bow, “Father.”
“I had wanted to talk with you and your sister but you both have somehow avoided me all day.”
I said nothing in return.
“Your sister, it seems, has blocked me. I don’t care how angry you girls get, that is not acceptable.”
I met his gaze, “Block you out?” I asked.
“I cannot seem to mind-link your sister. I have sent Bernard to fetch her.’
I tilted my head, “Sorry father, but that will do no good. Aurora will not be there. I am sure, however, Bernard will find a note from her explaining.”
My father squinted his eyes at me, “What are you saying?”
I knew he would figure out I knew, and I did not want Lucian to get blamed or my father to think Lucian had any part of this, so I admitted I knew Aurora was gone.
“Aurora left." I asid clearly, "But can you blame her, you were forcing her to become Jullian’s mate even after the horrible things he did.” I said raising my voice.
“I have my reasons. You are not to doubt me, child.”
My father let out a loud growl, making me kneel on the ground.
I heard the door open, but I did not dare move to see who entered.
“Father?” I heard Nate ask, no doubt wondering what was happening. I heard the footsteps of others as well.
“Alpha, she is gone. I found this letter on her bed.” Bernard handed my father an envelope similar to the one that I had given Lucian.
My father quickly opened the envelope and pulled the letter out. I watched while with my head still bowed and without moving from my kneeling position.
I could feel the anger radiating from my father.
I could tell there were several others in the room, but I did not dare look to see who else had joined us.
“Stand.” My father said to me after reading the letter. I stood keeping my head down, looking at my feet.
“You knew and let your sister leave? She has no place to go, no one to care for her.” He sounded afraid, which made me look up at him.
“Father Aurora is a strong, capable female; she can fend for herself.” I tried to assure my father.
“You knew of this?” My father asked someone, but I had my eyes trained on my feet.
“No father. Aurora is gone?” I heard Nate question.
“Yes, ran away, like the child she is. She did not want to be mated to Jullian, so she ran off.”
I spared a glance at Nate. Who gave me a quick glance.
“Father, do not take your anger out on Natalia. If Aurora wanted to leave, nothing anyone could do would have stopped her. You know her stubbornness.”
“Did either of you know?” I heard my father, making me look behind me.
I heard Brutus speak first. “I learned of her departure this morning.”
“As did I.” Lucian said loud and clear, being sure he did not cower to my father.
They both stood tall and proud, as if they were fulfilling some sort of pack duty.
“As future leaders you did not tell your Alpha or even your future Alpha, your best friend?”
Looking back at my father, I could see the disgust on his face.
“How can I someday in the near future trust any of you with my pack!” My father yelled.
“I fulfilled my obligation to my pack, to the Alpha’s daughter. Given the circumstances, we felt she could be in danger. Jullian is not a fit mate.” Lucian said loud and clear, with no hesitation.
“But you disobeyed your Alpha.”
“We had no direct orders,” Brutus added.
“You need direct orders to tell me my daughter has run away?”
“I weighed the options Alpha, Sir. It seemed safer to let Aurora leave, then stay and be forced into a life she does not want.”
My father gave an evil grin, “Because you both think there is a possibility you may be her fated mate.’
My father stood, walking over to us, “My actions are not to be questioned. I am doing what is best for Aurora and our pack. I am not to be questioned.”
My father stood thinking for a few moments. “I don’t suppose any of you will have the decency to tell me where she has gone.”
“Alpha, Sir, she would not say.” Brutus paused, “Not that I would be inclined to tell you, but honestly I have no clue.”
Lucian spoke next, “She left me a letter. If I had any idea where she may have gone, I would be out looking for her already.”
My father’s eyes fell on me next. “What do you know?”
“We talked about her leaving last night, she had many ideas about how to travel to stay undetected. She did not tell me the route she would take.
She plans on waiting until she turns 21 then searching for her mate.” I said with no regret.
My father turned towards a couple of the guards, “Take their phones, laptops, tablets and any other device that could be used to communicate with Aurora.”
Turning back to us, “Hand them over without a fight, provide passwords, we will need to monitor them.”
“That is fine, we knew we would not be able to communicate.” I said, making my father glared at me.
“Father, I do not understand why you are forcing Aurora into a situation she does not want to be a part of.” My brother had said little but I could tell it bothered him as well.
My father gave Nate an unfriendly look, “You are not Alpha, I do everything to protect this pack, our territory and my family. Do not question me, boy.”
Nate stepped forward, “You have trained me well over the years to someday lead this pack, yet you keep secrets from me. You say you do these things to protect us, Aurora, but from what?”
I jumped in surprise when my father jumped towards Nate, he grabbed him around the throat and pushed him against a large pillar in the room.
I heard a slight crack from the force, but Nate did not fight or cry out in pain. He just kept eye contact with my father.
I suspected Nate could take father should they fight, but I do not think Nate would, not unless he felt he had no other options.
“Someday when you can handle all the going ons of us adults, I will tell you, until then you do as you are told.”
My father and Nate stayed holding eye contact for some time before my father let go.
“All of you, to your rooms, do not leave them until I tell you otherwise. I will have dinner sent to you.”
My father walked back to his desk. “Leave, he said with his back to us.
