FLASHBACK… Liam, before moving into the ceremony hall had already paid his ally to stand in his place at the wedding, to avoid being executed secretly by Maximus. Liam sneaked out of the ceremony to avoid being seen by anyone, since he was still in his wedding attire which made it hard for him to escape easily. He had already planned to escape from the wedding since he was informed by his sidekick who also blended into the palace guards, overhearing the assassins planning to kill Liam with the vermilion scent which could only affect Liam. In his mind, he felt so sorry for breaking his promises to Scarlett, but he just had to do it, to avoid Scarlett from being in danger. flashback ends… Scarlett's vision blurred as she was dragged further into the shadows. She tried to struggle, but the imposter's grip was too strong. She felt herself being lifted off the ground, and then everything went black. Meanwhile, the chaos erupted into a full-blown battle. Liam fought off the guards and assassins, his skills honed to perfection. But he knew he couldn't hold out for long. "Arden, now!" he yelled, as his sidekick appeared by his side. Arden Nightwalker, a skilled fighter and Liam's trusted ally, took down several guards with swift kicks and punches. Together, they fought their way through the palace grounds, dodging swords and arrows. As they reached the fence, Liam leapt onto the wall, with Arden close behind. They sprinted across the rooftops, pursued by the assassins. But Liam knew these streets like the back of his hand. He led Arden on a wild goose chase, dodging and weaving through alleys and side streets. Finally, they reached the outskirts of the city, where their horses were waiting. They galloped into the night, the assassins hot on their heels. But Liam and Arden were experts at evasion. They rode hard, their horses' hooves pounding the earth, until they reached the safety of Ravenhurst Castle. As they rode into the courtyard, Liam turned to Arden with a grim smile. "We have Scarlett's location. Let's plan our next move." Arden nodded, his eyes gleaming with determination. "We'll get her back, Liam. And we'll take down those assassins once and for all." And with that, they began to strategize their next move, ready to face whatever dangers lay ahead. Scarlett slowly opened her eyes, groggily taking in her surroundings. She was in her bed, in the palace. But how did she get here? The last thing she remembered was being dragged away by the imposter... As she sat up, memories began to flood back. The fight, Liam's appearance, the message in his eyes... She rubbed her temples, trying to process it all. But as she looked around, she realized that no one else seemed to know what had happened. The servants were bustling about, unaware of the drama that had unfolded the night before. Scarlett's mind raced. She was the only one who knew the truth. And she had to keep it that way, for now. The next morning, Scarlett watched from her window as the imposter, still pretending to be Liam, prepared to leave. He mounted his horse, and Scarlett saw Arden Nightwalker, his ally, by his side. They exchanged a brief glance, and Scarlett felt a shiver run down her spine. What were they planning? As they rode away, Scarlett felt a sense of unease. She was trapped in the palace, with no way to communicate with Liam or Arden. Just then, her mother entered the room, a look of concern on her face. "Scarlett, dear, I heard you had a fainting spell last night. Are you feeling better?" Scarlett nodded, still lost in thought. Her mother sat beside her, taking her hand. "Listen, Scarlett. I know you're not happy about this marriage. And I don't blame you. But you have to be careful. Maximus is not a man to be trifled with." Scarlett looked up, a plan forming in her mind. "Mother, I need your help," she said, her voice low. "I need to avoid Maximus, and... the other Liam. Can you help me?" Her mother's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean, 'the other Liam'?" Scarlett hesitated, unsure how much to reveal. But something in her mother's expression told her she could trust her. "I'll explain later," she said. "But for now, can you help me dress like a man? I need to avoid them, at all costs." Her mother's face lit up with understanding. "Ah, Scarlett. You always were one for adventure." And with that, they began to plan Scarlett's disguise, determined to keep her safe from those who sought to control her. Scarlett's mother helped her dress in a simple tunic and breeches, tying back her hair and obscuring her face with a hood. Scarlett felt a thrill of excitement as she gazed at her reflection - she looked like a young man, ready for adventure. "Remember, Scarlett, you must be careful," her mother cautioned. "You don't know what dangers lie ahead." Scarlett nodded, her heart racing with anticipation. She knew the risks, but she had to try. As she made her way through the palace, Scarlett felt a sense of freedom she had never known before. She moved unnoticed, a mere servant or guard, not the prized princess. She reached the stables, where a loyal groom, Lysander, awaited her. He had been instructed by her mother to provide Scarlett with a horse and a disguise. "Be safe, milady," Lysander whispered, as he handed her a cloak and a hat. Scarlett smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards her mother and Lysander . She mounted her horse, ready to face whatever lay ahead. As she rode out of the palace gates, Scarlett felt a sense of exhilaration. She was finally taking control of her own destiny, no longer a pawn in the games of others. With a sense of determination, Scarlett rode towards the unknown, leaving the palace and its intrigues behind her. Little did she know, her journey was just beginning…
