Exit 16

This happened to me when I was on a road trip with my friends. We were having a get together after 3 years. That night after we got high and drunk we decided to go on a road trip. Like every other drunk people we always ended up doing stupid s**t after getting drunk. This was one of those ideas. There were five of us in total. Out of our group Kevin and me were the only ones not drunk or high. So we all agreed that Kevin and me would take turns driving. Kevin took up the first turn to drive since it was his car. I hopped into the front seat beside him. Dave, Jim, and Pete got into the back seat. We then hit the road. Time was around 11:00PM when we left. We were pretty aimless where to go. Since everyone was drunk we decided to head to route 16. Now route 16 was famous for being haunted. People who have travelled through that route has talked about seeing mysterious entity or experienced weird stuff. We never believed in any of it and was sure it was some cooked up story made by crazy folks to scare people. Route 16 doesn't get much travelers after sun set since the route didn't have any lighting and was prone to a lot of accidents. Me and kevin decided to play a prank on the drunk lot sitting at the back so we could scare them a bit. It was around 11:45PM when we arrived at the exit and took the turn. We kept driving for a while through the road. Kevin then slowly switched off the car and pretended as if the car broke down. He said he will check on it and walked out of the car with the flash from his phone. Pete and Jim were already quite spooked Dave not so much since he was the bravest among us he did not even bother. We did not hear from Kevin for quite a while. I was wondering what was taking him so long, that is when we heard him scream. His scream sounded so real that even I was spooked. I then started laughing at Jim and Pete and told them that kevin and me were pranking them. That's when we heard kevin screaming the second time asking me to start the car. He sounded as if he was scared out of his mind. I complimented him for his acting and replied to him that the jokes over since the guys almost s**t their pants after his first scream. But when Kevin kept screaming at me to start the car in fear I was convinced that something was not right and he was not playing. So I hopped into the driving seat and started the car. Kevin Jumped in through the window and did not even bother to open the door. I had so many questions but then suddenly something hit the back of the car with immense power. We all were scared out of our minds that I hit the gas with full strength. This time everyone was screaming including me. We did not even take a second to look back. We soon came across the board which said exit to the highway. We took the turn and kept driving for a while. Everyone was shocked that nobody uttered a single word. Then suddenly the car turned off. This time for real. I tried to start the car again a couple of times and it did not start. After a couple of tries the car started and when the headlights turned on. We were totally terrified at what we saw. We were sitting there at the same spot where the board that showed the exit to the highway.
