Chapter 2: Meeting Carter Part 2

The way he slowly opened the drawer. The soft sound of the wood slipping against wood made her close her eyes and swallow hard. It was like he was doing it on purpose. Teasing her and bringing her closer to ecstasy in the chair across from him. Did he know he was doing this to her? Was it on purpose? Why did he make this so hard? He brought a few folders out. One was a portfolio style notebook that was made from black leather. The other was an ordinary yellow legal pad. He slowly set them down on the top of his desk and she couldn't help but watch how he slowly grazed his fingertips along the cover of the leather portfolio. How he seemed to touch the smooth material as if it was a woman's body that was laid out on his bed with the moonlight cascading on her pale skin. Her chest rose and fell, and her n*****s peaked and pressed against her bra in the most painful, yet tantalizing way. She wanted relief. Needed relief if she was going to get through this. Her lips parted and her eyelashes fell low as she stared at him, bringing her eraser back up to her lips without thinking. "Are you with me Ms. Adams? I fear that I have lost your attention." 'Oh, how wrong he was. He had only gained more of her attention.' Ariana quickly dropped her pencil to her lap and changed her expression once she realized that she was giving him bedroom eyes. "Ye- Yes. Sorry, Mr. Anderson." Ariana swallowed hard as she tried to focus. Carter cleared his throat and touched the corner of the portfolio to slowly open it. "Now this one is my schedule. I'll need you to keep track of every event, function, and meeting for me." "Okay." Ariana took notes in her notebook as he spoke. Carter sighed and laced his fingers on top of the schedule that was open, causing her to peer up at him. "I'm sorry?" Ariana's voice went up in confusion, as she was unsure of why he would sigh at her like he was irritated. But maybe he wasn't irritated at all. He was hard to read and every sound and word seemed off and slightly awkward. Almost like he was trying too hard to be somebody else. "I'm going to be compiling this all into an email for you. You don't need to take notes." Carter tried to give her a smile, but it looked forced to her. "Oh." Ariana closed her notebook and gripped it in her lap. "I'll need you to come to all of my meetings, send out emails to my clients, and bring us coffee every other morning. We'll exchange days on coffee." He smiled again and it still seemed off. She found it odd that someone should have to try so hard to smile. Something about it creeped her out and unsettled her. It appeared as if he was in physical pain. "One last thing." "Yes...?" Ariana drew out the word, as she found herself leaning closer at the same time he did across his desk. "I need you to not only be my administrator here but at home too." Carter sat back in his chair and stacked up the portfolio and legal pad. Her mouth fell open and she couldn't control her expression. She knew it was rude, but she couldn't think coherently enough to care. She snapped out of it and shook her head. "I'm sorry. What?" Carter leaned back and put his hands behind his head. "I don't just need an administrator in the office... I need someone to keep me on my toes at home. Someone to cook. Someone to..." "A maid then." Ariana was unamused at his request. "Mr. Anderson." She laughed a few short laughs. "I am grateful for this position, but I did not sign on to be some maid." Carter reached forward and opened the thin drawer in front of him and pulled out a piece of paper that looked vaguely familiar to her. "Adalee had you sign some paperwork. On the second page of the job offer it stated that you agreed to not only work in the office, but at my home as well. I needed someone that would qualify for both. She should have run this by you with the job offer." He slid the paper across the desk and Ariana took the paper from it, reading it over. It was there plain as day. Somehow, she had missed it. "I- I think I was just so excited about the job offer that I didn't notice." Ariana slowly peered up at him. "But I still won't be your maid, Mr. Anderson." Carter shook his head. "Not a maid, Ms. Adams. I just need someone qualified to keep my head straight in the office and at home. My life is hectic. I find it hard to keep everything organized and Adalee has only spoken good things about you. Especially your organizational skills." It was Ariana's turn to look concerned. "She what?" "You told her that you had amazing organizational skills. You are well organized are you not?" Carter raised an eyebrow at her, as he took the paper back from her to slip back into his desk. Ariana giggled and waved her hand towards him. "Of course... I am. I color code and label everything in my apartment. You should see my amazing closet and pantry. Perfect order." She gave him the best smile she could to try and sell it. Her apartment was a wreck. An absolute disaster and half the time she could barely find her keys in the morning. "No problem. When do I start?" "Tomorrow morning." Carter stood up and passed her the stack of stuff. "Now, your office is across the hall from mine." "O- okay." Ariana brushed a loose strand of hair behind her ear, as she stood up to follow him out of his office. Carter suddenly stopped and she ran into his back. He was tall, solid, and his suit was soft against her cheek. The warm scent of his cologne surrounded her and lured her in until she realized what she had done. She quickly stumbled away from him as he turned on his toe to grab her upper arms, keeping her from falling back onto her behind. "Sorry. I didn't mean to stop so suddenly." Carter peered into her honey hued eyes and got lost for a moment in the way she parted her red lips. "Anyway." He helped stand her up straight before he unlocked her office for her. Her skin felt hot beneath his soft fingertips and her thighs trembled. She was so close, and he hadn't even really done anything to her. He held the door open for her and she walked past with her gaze to the floor, as she brushed her hair behind her ear again with flushed cheeks. She hoped to God that he didn't notice that she was aroused and barely hanging on. Her panties were soaked and her heady arousal was becoming more obvious, the closer she got to the edge of oblivion. She heard how his voice darkened as she walked by him. "This is your office."
