Chapter Four

Third Person's POV

"Richard son, I was about to call you and beat me to it." Rosy said as she answered the call.

She had just had a talk with Eolly and she was so happy when Eolly told her that she had got the job.

"Mom, I will be having dinner at your place," Richard said to his mom.

The Knox patriarch was shocked, she could not believe what she had just heard. She always asks her son to eat with her from time to time, at least once a week, but he always says he's busy. She didn't know what had gotten to her son but she would be sure to take this opportunity.

"Of course, son, you don't need to inform me about that. You know you are always welcome..." Rosy said with a smile.

"OK mom, bye" Richard said and hung up.

Rosy had a broad grin on her face when something came to her mind. She called Eolly and invited her to dinner. It's a good thing she agreed. She was trying her best to put her son and Eolly together. She thinks that maybe that was the reason why her son wanted to have dinner in our mansion. With this thought, she called her maids and chefs to prepare something special.

On the other hand, after leaving Knox Corp. Building, Eolly went home to have lunch and prepare for Seily's blind date.

Serene Hotel is the largest hotel chain in J City, it has branches all over the world. It is also one of the subsidiary companies of Knox Corp. Seily's family was one of the wealthiest families in J City as well. Although their wealth is nothing compared to Knox's, their family owns the largest and strongest fast food chain, not just here, but also in other countries.

She is the only daughter and heiress of their company but she remained down to earth and easy to get along with. Eolly remembers when they were in college and Eolly was being bullied. She helped her stay by her side. That is when they start becoming best friends.

Eolly arrived at Serene Hotel 10 minutes before 4. She took out her phone and called Seily.

"Girl, are you here yet?" said Seily as soon as she answered her call.

"Yeah, where are you? I am at the lobby entrance now."

"Oh, OK. I can see you. Please sit next to our table. I will reserve it for you."

"Alright, bye." She ended the call and went to the table Seily had reserved for her. She was about to put her phone in her bag when it rang and saw that it was Aunt Rosy.

'Why did she call? I have already told her that I am going to start to work at Knox on Monday.'

She thought and answered the call and walked to her table, "Yes Aunt Rosy?"

"Eolly my dear, because you will be starting to work on Monday, I would like to invite you to have dinner with me here at the mansion. You won't be able to hangout with me anytime when you start to work. And, of course, to celebrate your new-found job." Aunt Rosy's litany...

"Alright, but I won't be available until 8 tonight. I'm at Serene Hotel now meeting my friend." she said as she sat on the table next to Seily's and gave her a flying kiss.

"8 is fine dear, see you then. bye bye!" she said and ended the call.

After a few minutes, Seily's blind date arrives. For Eolly, he looks decent and he is on time. If Eolly hadn't known Seily she would think that she had been the one who was very eager for this date, because she came early. The man is tall and masculine. His complexion is very manly, not too fair and not too dark and he walks with confidence.

The blind date goes well and Eolly can tell that Seily likes the man and vice versa. Seily's blind date asked her if he could send her home but she refused. She told him that she had a friend with her and pointed at Eolly. The man looked at her with shock and shyness. Seily introduced them and Eolly found out his name was Andrew.

It was 6 pm when Andrew said goodbye and asked Seily if it was possible if they could meet again, worrying about her reply. Seily said yes and and his worried face became happy and sighed in relief. They shook hands and he left.

"Congrats girl" Eolly told Seily happily. Seily was so shy and she was 100% sure that he liked Andrew.

"Next time, you won't be needing me, right?" Eolly asked Seily.

"Yeah, hahaha, thank you girl" Seily said happily.

Meanwhile, Rosy told Richard that dinner would be at 8. Richard thought it was odd, because she usually has her dinner at 6:30. He was wondering why it was late. He arrived at the mansion and parked his car. As he entered the mansion, he heard laughter coming from the living room. As he was getting closer, the voices seemed familiar and he was getting nervous.

When he reached the living room his throat got dry and shock was evident on his face. His mom and Ms. Higgins was talking freely on the way to the dining hall. He was hesitating whether to go there or just leave. He didn't want to see her, now that he was still confused about his feelings.

He was about to walk back when he heard her, "Mr. Knox, you are here." Eolly said.

"Oh my son, what are you doing? Why don’t you come?" Rosy asked him too.

"I forgot something in the car, I will just get it." Richard answered.

" OK, make it fast, Eolly and I are hungry already," Rosy said.

"Alright"

Going to his car, he was battling with himself whether he would have dinner there or just leave. She looks so beautiful with her hair down, she only has powder on her face and very light lipstick. She was wearing an above the knee sleeveless dress and matched it with sneakers. He didn't think he would be able to eat if she was right beside him. Her fresh scent this morning flashed into his mind and his head ran wild.

After a long deliberation, Richard decided to calm himself and go back inside the mansion. He found them seated already and having fun with their conversation. Eolly noticed him and gave him a nod, making his mom look in his way.

"Come son, let's eat. I'm starving already. Eolly went to her best friend's blind date but she did not eat much because I invited her to come over." Rosy said as he sat at her mom's side facing Eolly.

"Good evening Mr. Knox" Eolly greeted him with a smile.

"Good evening Ms. Higgins."

"Eolly dear, you can call him Richard. You are not working for him yet and you're not in the office, so Richard is just fine. And son, call her Eolly. You are so formal. That is exactly the reason why your employees are so aloof and scared of you."

" OK Eolly?" she asked Ms. Higgins. " OK Aunt Rosy," she answered.

"How about you, son?" she asked him,

"Whatever" Richard said stoically.

"This is a very rare occasion. My son told me that he will have his dinner here and I can't wait to let this pass." said Rosy to Eolly. "And because Eolly will no longer be available anytime when she starts working on Monday, I invited her tonight." she added.

The dinner goes well and Richard has to put in so much effort not to look at Eolly every time . Richard asked to leave but his mom stopped him.

"Bring Eolly with you, it will be difficult for her to call a cab here. Go dear, come with Richard."

" OK, thank you Aunt Rosy" Eolly said,

Richard was speechless, there he was trying to avoid her and yet he was contained in the car with her, and the way she agreed with mom was as if it was nothing.
