*Ashley* The crisp mountain air fills my lungs as we step outside, and I can’t help but smile. The snow sparkles under the bright sun, and I feel a rush of excitement course through me. This is it… my first time skiing for real… as a kid I tried once or twice but on nearly flat ground… no mountains. I glance over at Lucas, who’s adjusting his gear with expert precision. He looks so at ease, his confidence radiating off him in waves. I can’t help but admire how effortlessly he carries himself. “Ready to hit the slopes?” he asks, his voice smooth and encouraging.
