Chapter 11

*DYLAN*

I throw one after the other. One. Two. Three. One in the head, another in the heart and the last one on the left lung. I have always enjoyed the skill of throwing daggers. I remember playing with them when I was a kid. I was actually the one that thought Athena how to use them.

“You have been throwing your daggers for two hours straight ocean eyes. You have not changed your clothes from the gala, and you haven’t said a word, since we left. Mind telling me what is going on in that head of yours.” Leonardo said breaking me from my concentration.

“Did you know that I always hated the way that you can read me like an open book, papa?” I say as I throw another dagger to the wooden dummies head.

“I know, now tell me what’s bothering you. I have a feeling it has something to do with Lorenzo” Leonardo said, and I let out a breath.

“Enzo” I said as I turned around to face Leonardo.

“What?” He asked as he looked at me confused.

“I know him as Enzo, well actually as Doctor Enzo Romano. He was the one that saved my live after the car accident.” I tell Leonardo as I place down my daggers in the metallic table next to me.

“So, you didn’t just dance together, you already knew each other” Leonardo said, and I nod my head.

“That and we kissed” I say.

“WHAT?” Leonardo said and I wince at his angry scream.

“In my defense he is a good-looking guy, and besides, I didn’t know he was in the mafia world. Let alone that the was the leader of the Black Cobras.” I say as I walk up to the dummies to retract my daggers. “And now that I’m back into the mafia world, I will not accept a distraction” I say as I pull two daggers out of the wood.

“You are coming back?” Leonardo said.

“I am” I say as I pull the last dagger out and turn around to look at him.

“The Phantom is back!” Leonardo said in excitement and I let out a loud laugh at his excitement and I shake my head.

Damn. The Phantom. It’s been so long since I had been called that. The Phantom is known all around the world for being the best seducer and stealer out there. The name is known but not the face. The Phantom is the mysterious women that you only see once, since she is the last thing you see. The Phantom seduces her target with her eyes that can captivate you with one single glance, her soft hair that runs down her back in waves, her curves that are sculpture by the Gods and her perfect smooth skin.

It is said that she seduces her targets, drugs them, and finally steals everything from them, before killing them off. The Phantom steals everything and leaves nothing behind, well except her unique signature. The black rose. After every steal and kill, the Phantom leaves behind a black rose as a signature of her work and to let people know that she was there.

Many have tried to copy the Phantom, but none succeed. There is only one Phantom and that’s me. My work and tactics are precise, everything is planned in advance, the steps, the words, the laughs, everything. That is why nobody has been able to be greater than the Phantom.

And that’s my work. My perfect unique work. You guys are wondering if I steal, then how come I was living a poor live. Well, most of the things I stole, I gave it away to the poorer (there is always someone in more need than you) and some to the King family and I mostly was left with nothing. Which didn’t bother me at all, I got another successful steal on my list and another black rose left behind.

“Well now that you are back, I have a job for you” Leonardo says and I look at him, and I know for a fact that my eyes twinkled at him words. “Emmanuel Ramirez. He is a rich guy, that doesn’t give a s**t about others and laughs at the face of the less wealthy” Leonardo said and I instantly gaged. I hate this type of guys, and that’s what makes my job so much fun and worth it. “Your job like always, seduce him, steal from him, but DO NOT kill him” Leonardo finished and I right now my mouth is hanging open.

“You are kidding right?” I asked and Leonardo shake his head. “Papa I live for the steal and kill. Besides if he lives, he will have a face for the Phantom.” I say as I pout at Leonardo, which only earned a chuckle from him.

“He won’t since you will be wearing a mask. He is attending a masquerade ball, you attend it, seduce him and steal from him. Easy stuff” Leonardo said, and I roll my eyes at him.

“Fine” I say with a groan. “Can I at least cut off something of his?” I asked in hopes that Leonardo will let me. He might be my Papa, but in the mafia world, he is my boss.

“A finger. Only a finger” Leonardo said.

“I was hoping to cut something else off” I say as I play with one of my knives in my fingers.

“I know” Leonardo said with a chuckle and with that he walks out of the target room.

After my conversation with Leonardo, I decided it was enough throwing daggers for the day and I went up to my room to take a shower and change. After the shower I dress in an oversize hoodie and black leggings. I walk out of my room and to the one next to mine, which is Aaron’s room. I enter the room without knocking and notice that Aaron is not in the room. I turn around to leave but the door to the bathroom opens up. I see Aaron walk out of the bathroom with a towel handing around his hip and another one on his hand will he dries off his hair.

“Jesus D! Are you trying to give me a heart attack?” Aaron said with a scream once he noticed that he wasn’t alone in his room.

“I did, I also tried to suffocate you with a pillow, but that didn’t work out” I say with a shrug and Aaron rolls his eyes at me.

“Funny, what do you want?” He asked and I turned around so he could change.

“Um… now that I’m back at the family house I was giving it much thought and I have decided to be The Phantom once again” I say and pick a little to see if Aaron was dressed. Once I noticed he was dressed I turned around to face him.

“Okay, I understand. I was actually giving it the same thought.” Aaron said and I clap my hands.

“The Phantom and The Kraken are back!”  I say and Aaron laughs at me. The Kraken is the name that was given to Aaron once he joined the underground mafia fights.

Like us the rest of the King family has a criminal name. I’m The Phantom, Aaron is The Kraken, Jasper is The Madman, the twins are named the Greek Gods and Ophelia is named The Enchantress.
