Chapter 17

*DYLAN*

It’s been a about a week since I had entered this house and I’m already going crazy. With Enzo being up my ass and all his men thinking they can touch me. I got to know the inside gang which consists in Seth, Sky, Red, Margot and Blade. I recognized Margot as the nurse from the hospital, she is a nice and quiet girl. Sky and I bonded after she explained that she did not liked Enzo and that he was just like a brother to her. She even took me shopping, which is a bonus point. I’m already best friends with Red, I love his psycho side, he reminds me of me. Seth is a quiet guy; be he is a good listener. The last one is Blade, he has been avoiding me since our little incident, but he is the only thing I have been thinking off.

I let out a breath and take a quick shower in Enzo’s room. I change into a black sports bra, a crop top cream yellow hoodie, black leggings, and my white air force. I walk out of the room and into the direction of Enzo’s office, I enter the room without knocking and I see him talking in the phone. Once he saw me his eyes glinted with something, and he smiled.

“I will call you back Demitri” He said to the person he was talking to and ended the phone call. “Missed me already sugar cube?” He asked and I cringe at him nickname.

“First don’t call me that and second you wish I would miss you” I say and Enzo laughs, me and Enzo have been playing this cat and mouse game, and don’t get me wrong I love the game, but if he doesn’t act soon, something bad will happen to him, something like his death.

“What can I help you with dagger?” He asked and I smile at his nickname, I can live with that.

“What is Blade’s deal? I haven’t done anything to him, and he is avoiding me like the plague.” I tell Enzo and he lets his head fall back for a few seconds and he then look at me.

“Me and Blade have known each other since childhood, from the begging he was going to be my right-hand man. His parents died along side with mine in a war. Once they were gone, we only had each other and a mafia full of people expecting us to lead it. He is really protective of this family, since he lost his first one. He thinks of you as a threat to his family and to me. We have always taken care of each other; he is only looking out for me. Don’t take it to heart, he is a good guy, and he will warm up to you in no time, just wait and see” Enzo finish and I take a deep breath. It most have been so horrible to lose your family.

“Thanks for telling me” I say with a sad smile and Enzo smiles at me. I hear the chair move and I look up at him and he comes around his desk and takes me in his arms.

“Don’t be sad dagger, everything will turn out just fine” He said as he tightens his hold around me. He gives me a quick peek in the lips and then pulls back and looks deep into my eyes.

“Do you know where I can find him?” I asked and he gives me a small smile.

Enzo had told me to look for him in the basement at the knife throwing room. I open the door and in all his glory was Blade throwing daggers at the wooden dummies. I walk inside the room silently, not wanting to disturb his concentration. Once I’m close enough to him, I decide to speak up.

“Mind if I join you?” I asked and Blade turns around to see who had spoken up. Once he saw it was me, he turned around and didn’t say as word. “I will take that as a yes.”

I stand next to him and watch his form. He has a good stand but if he just twisted his hips a little more the dagger once thrown will have more force. I see him throw his dagger and it connects with the wooden wall in the head of the dummy. I smirk and throw my dagger at the dummy in my line of view, and it lands on his head. I turn around to see Blade already looking at me, I smile up to him, but he rolls his eyes and lets out a scuff.

“Look Blade” I spoke up and with that he throws a dagger, but it lands next to the dummy, he lets out a frustrated sigh and runs his right hand through his hair. “Blade I’m not trying to take your place, or for Enzo to forget about you or any of the Black Cobras. On the contrary you are all family, and I will never want to change that bond. I’m new to this family and I have no right to change it, and I don’t intend to do it. If it weren’t for your boss’ crazy mind I wouldn’t be here. I will never try to overrule any of you, not you, Red, Seth or Sky. You are all know part of my family and I take care of my family, and I will do it until my last breath. And in all honesty if what you want is Enzo, you can have him, he is a real pain in the ass” I say and I hear Blade chuckle, ah so he can laugh. I smile to him, and he gives me one back, it was small, but it still counts.

“Nah you can have him; besides, I have my eyes on someone else at the moment” He said as he throws another dagger into the dummy’s head.

“Oh, do tell.” I say looking at him with excitement in my eyes.

“Promise you won’t say anything and if yo do I will kill you and make it look like an accident.” Blade said as he looked from the dagger, he had in his hand to me.

“No worries, I’m a tomb” I say with a shrug.

“I compete at the mafia underworld fights, and I fought against the Kraken” Blade said and with the sound of Aaron’s name I froze and the dagger I had in hand slipped off and landed on the floor. “Are you okay?” Blade asked and I just smiled and nodded my head at him. “Like I was saying, I fought against him, and he was quite attractive. I’m waiting for tonight to see if I can get a glimpse of him again” Blade said I smile widely at him. “Stop smiling” He said, and I laugh.

“Your secret is saved with me.” I say and I make a mental note to make him, and my best friend fall madly in love.
