Chapter 4: The Race Lexi, Ethan, and Jack huddled around the conference table, pouring over the documents Raven had provided. The evidence was damning, but they knew they needed more to take down Senator Parker. "We need to get this to the DA," Jack said, his eyes scanning the papers. "But we need to be careful. Senator Parker has a lot of influence, and he'll stop at nothing to silence us." "I'll reach out to my contact at the DA's office," Lexi said, her mind racing with the possibilities. "But we need to move fast. Raven is taking a huge risk by coming forward, and we need to protect him." Ethan nodded, his eyes locked on the documents. "I'll start digging into Senator Parker's financial records, see if I can find any discrepancies." As they worked, the tension in the room was palpable. They knew they were in a race against time, and that Senator Parker's people could be closing in on them at any moment. Just then, Lexi's phone buzzed with a text from Raven. "Meet me at the old warehouse at midnight," the message read. "I have more evidence, but we need to be quick." Lexi's heart raced as she showed the message to Ethan and Jack. "We need to be careful," Jack warned. "This could be a trap." Lexi nodded, her mind racing with the possibilities. She knew that she had to take the risk, no matter how dangerous it was. As they arrived at the warehouse, Lexi's heart was racing with anticipation. Raven was already there, his eyes scanning the shadows nervously. "I have the financial records," Raven said, his voice barely above a whisper. "But we need to get out of here, now." Suddenly, they heard the sound of footsteps echoing through the warehouse. Lexi's heart skipped a beat as she realized they were not alone. "Run!" Raven yelled, grabbing the documents and taking off into the darkness. Lexi, Ethan, and Jack followed close behind, their hearts pounding in their chests. They knew they had to get out of there, before Senator Parker's people caught up with them. As they emerged into the night air, Lexi's phone buzzed with a text from an unknown number. "You're getting close, Lexi," the message read. "But you'll never take down Senator Parker. He's too powerful." Lexi's eyes locked on the message, her heart racing with fear. She knew that she was in grave danger, but she refused to back down.
