Strange

Athena woke up with the noise from the unit next to hers. Their landlord already gave them a heads up that there will be a new tenant in that unit last week but it slipped into her mind and did not expect that it is today. She checked the time on her phone and realize that it was almost noon yet she was still lying on her bed, good thing it was the weekend. Doing her morning routine, she smell the aroma of the pork being grilled. It must be from the unit next to mine. She thought. “Ugh, I also want barbecue.” She grunts. Athena opened her refrigerator just to see how empty it is. But she’s too lazy to go to the grocery store. Luck being with her, she heard the doorbell of her unit. “Hi!” The girl wearing a floral dress with a small round face said, smiling. “I’m Cassandra, Cassy for short. I hope we’re not interrupting you but my cousin just moved into the unit next to yours. He’s Sebastian, Seb for short.” Cassy introduced her cousin and Athena’s new neighbor. “Hi.” Seb greeted. “Hi, welcome!” Athena replied. “Thanks.” Seb smiled. “Anyway, We would like to invite you for lunch since we were told by the landlord that the lady living in the unit next to him is around our age so we want to know you...well if you want.” “Oh,” Athena can decline if she wants to, but since she was hungry and doesn’t have any food left in her refrigerator, she had no choice but to agree. “Sure!” “Omg!! Yay! Let’s go?” Cassy said and Athena just nod before following them. “Hi...!” Athena awkwardly greets after learning that there are more people in Seb’s unit. “Omg hello!!” A girl with a fair skin greeted. She’s pretty and almost perfect, yes almost since nobody’s perfect. “I’m Shania, so nice to meet you!” Oh to have that beauty. Athena thought. “I’m Lucas” a tall handsome guy approached her, introducing himself. Oh nice, everyone in this unit has a top tier beauty. I shouldn’t be here. Athena, for the nth time, thought. “Aaaaand, I’m Adam.” A handsome (again), with a very cute eyes said. Damn he’s like a cat. “Athena.” She said after hearing everyone’s name. “Omg!! Your name fits you!” Shania said, making Athena smile...awkwardly. Everyone saying it, that her name fits her but the truth is she hated it. It’s not because she’s being compared to Athena who is actually a Goddess from the Greek mythology simply because it was given by the person she hated the most, her mother. “So... let’s eat na!” Cassy said, and that’s when Athena felt her tummy growling. “If you don’t mind, Athena, are you perhaps currently studying? Or you’re already working?” Shania asked, “Sorry I’m just curious if we’re in the same age.” “You should’ve asked for her age dummy.” Lucas said pinching Shania’s nose. “Hey there! It’s rude in asking someone’s age!” Cassy interrupts. “What? You’re just curious how is it rude?” Lucas asked. “Ah well, it’s ladies unspoken rule, but since you’re talking about age, I’m 21 and should I say both? Since I’m a college girl and currently working.” “Oh! What university are you? And what are your work?” Shania excitedly asked. “CTSU, and for my work, well I don’t have a work like the the other working student here but, my job is being extra in some movie or series.” “Oh! So you want to be an actress?” Cassy asked. “Yes, but it’s hard, really. Especially if you don’t even have connection from the industry. That’s why I’m trying so hard since I’m in middle school.” “Well I think you’ll get there.” Sebastian uttered making everyone look at him, “what? I’m just saying that I believe that she’ll be able to achieve her dream!” “Boy no ones asking you any explanation, we’re just amaze you have interest in eavesdropping some conversation hahaha” Adam kidded. “Bro you’re in my unit and no one said I’m out of this conversation” Seb said and Adam laugh. “Ugh whatever guys, I said let’s eat! I’m hungry.” Cassy cut their nonsense conversation.
