Chapter 6

Pov Ava

I've been trying for an hour to lift this katana but I can't get it to move even a few inches and then I decide to sit down and think

Louise: So it's complicated

Ava: Yes, I don't see how I'm supposed to lift it, it's much too heavy

Louise: I'd advise you to build up some muscle for that you can ask your grandmother

Ava: Yes, that's not a bad idea

I go to see the grandmother and she is sleeping so I decide to wake her up by pushing her off the couch

Grandma: What are you doing passing me around like that I'm your elder you have to respect me anyway

Ava: Yes, yes, I wanted to ask you if you had any alterations

Grandma: You could still apologize for pushing me

Ava: No,  just answer my question.

Grandma: You're really rude and no I don't have an alter but I have something better

Ava: And what is that?

A magic circle appears and disappears and suddenly I feel myself falling on the floor

Ava: What have you done, I can't stand up anymore

Grandma: With my magic I have made all the objects here heavier and also your clothes

Ava: Yes, but now I won't be able to get up

Grandma: Don't worry, you'll succeed in the end. I'll go back to sleep and at least this time you won't be able to bother me

Ava: Please don't go

It was too late, the grandmother had already left

Ava: ( Well I have to try to get up and then we'll see about the rest)

I try to get up and then after 30 minutes of suffering I finally manage to get up and then comes the time when I have to manage to move I take 10 minutes to move from the sofa where I was to the door

Louise: Good luck to you Ava

Ava: Thanks, I need it

I spend the rest of the day trying not to fall over and then it's time to make dinner

Grandma: I'll let you make the food Ava good luck because the things in the kitchen I have also weighed them down

I walk with some difficulty into the kitchen and take a knife with one hand and it is really heavy

Ava: (I better be careful because the way this knife is heavy I might cut my hand on purpose)

Louise: Let me take care of the meal for tonight, don't worry

Louise: Yes, but I'm used to it, especially with Rose, so I don't mind

Ava: I'll leave you to it then I'll come back to eat

I go out of the kitchen and I let Louise make the food after an hour  the meal is finally ready and Louise tells us to come and eat and we sit down and we look at the dish that Louise has made for us and well it's a soup that is green and I don't see anything else but green and there are little bubbles in the soup and I think I saw green smoke in the shape of a skull

Grandma: Well, I'll give you the honour of tasting this dish

Ava: No Grandma, honour to the oldest

Grandma: No, you taste first and I didn't make what we're going to eat any heavier so please eat

Louise: Go and eat what I've prepared

Ava: I'll go first then

I take a spoonful of Louise's soup and put the spoon in my mouth instantly I turn green

Louise: So is it good Ava

Ava: (I don't want to disappoint her plus she cut herself to make this meal) Uh yes it's great

Louise: Well then, have some more

Ava: No it's ok I'm not really hungry I think I'll go outside for a while

Louise: Well, since you say so, don't take too long to go outside, it's dark and you might be attacked.

Ava: Yeah don't worry I'll be back in a bit

I leave the house and decide to go deeper into the forest

Ava:( I think I saw some berries around here I really need to eat)

My tummy starts rumbling but I keep looking and after a while I find some berries and eat them and then I hear a noise in a bush

Ava: Is there a wild animal here

I decide to go to that bush and then I see grandma

Ava: What are you doing, Grandma? You weren't supposed to eat the food Louise made

Grandma: And I could ask you the same question

Ava: Let's just say it's our secret, so I don't want to die right after I eat my meal.

Grandma: I totally agree with you, but I think it's time we went back home.

Ava: Yes, otherwise Louise will end up wondering

Me and grandma go back into the house and then I decide to go to the room I'm sleeping in and I see that Louise is already asleep she's sleeping peacefully I decide to change my clothes which is complicated as my clothes are heavy then I decide to go to sleep and the blanket is also heavy to lift

Ava:( She abuses grandma I can't take it anymore it's tiring)

During the next 6 days I managed to improve my walking without any difficulty at the beginning it was hard to cook but now I'm used to it and we don't have to put up with Louise's dishes or go looking for berries in the middle of the night I'm mentoring every day I'm doing push-ups with several objects on me and I feel a bit stronger than before but still I don't know if I'm going to manage to carry the katana tomorrow it's going to be the last day

The next morning

Pov Ava

I wake up and take a shower and brush my teeth, then I go outside to see the katana and it's still there and so is grandma

Grandma: Today is the end of the one week I gave you to carry that katana so good luck to you.

Ava: I didn't ask you but what if I don't make it?

Grandma: I don't know yet

Louise: Maybe you'll succeed this time

I take a deep breath and then I walk towards the katana and then I point my hand towards the katana and yours and then I lift it and this time I succeed

Ava: You saw his grandmother, I did it

"I jump for joy still holding the katana in my hands"

Grandma: Well you did it, I expected nothing less from you

Louise: Great, you did it Ava

Ava: Yes, now I'm going to learn how to use the katana

Grandma: No, not right now, but you'll have to do something else first.

Ava: And what will that be?

Grandma: I want you to make friends with the gardian of the mountain

Ava: What about making friends with the giant wolf but he'll eat me

Grandma: Don't worry and I also have another condition,you won't be allowed in the house until you make friends with the guardian

Ava: Can't you do that grandma,where I'm going to  sleep

Grandma: You will sleep in the forest and you will not be provided with any food, you will have to manage on your own and here are some of your clothes

"She gives me my backpack and then she leaves with Louise in the house".

Ava:( Well I don't really need to go into the house and then it might not be hard to become friends with the guard)

I look at what's in my bag and there's only clothes and nothing else

Pov Louise

Grandma: You look like you're worried about Ava

Louise: Yeah I don't really know if it's a good idea to have done this

Grandma: Don't worry about her, she's passed the katana test so I think she'll manage to make friends with the guardian and then if she's in danger we'll step in

Louise: Yes, you're not wrong, but what do you want us to eat tonight?

Grandma: Hey let me cook tonight if you want

Louise: Yeah, why not

Pov Ava

I went into the forest and started to look for the guardian but he is almost nowhere to be found after a few hours of searching my stomach starts to rumble then I start to look for food and I end up finding a bush with strawberries and I eat the strawberries then I see a baby deer it looks like he is injured

Ava:( I think I have to help this deer)

I approach the deer and he is frightened by my presence

Ava: Don't worry I don't want to hurt you I just want to help you

I give the deer some of the strawberries I picked earlier and he eats them and is not scared anymore

Ava: Well I guess now you'll be my companion until I find the guardian.

I take one of my clothes and tear it up and use it as a bandage for the deer's wound

Ava: It's going to be dark soon I think for today I should stop but I have to look for something to eat

I get up and the deer follows me and I even feel like he wants to take me somewhere so I follow him and we end up next to a river

Ava: Yes I'm going to catch fish

" I hold the deer in my arms and then take some pieces of wood to make a fishing rod and I fish and I manage to catch 4 fish and then I collect some wood and I decide to make a fire to cook the fish and when they are cooked I give two to the deer and he eats them"

Ava: Well for the moment I haven't found the guardian yet but it doesn't matter, at least I found that deer and it's beacause of him that I found this river

I pet the deer and then decide to sleep near the fire so I don't catch cold and the deer also sleeps next to me
