I ran away from the cave as fast as my legs could carry me.
My body was weak and my legs ached but I pushed myself regardless. I made my way swiftly through the trees as my heart pounded loudly in my chest.
"Emerald!!" I heard Bruno's voice from behind me "I'll find you. You can't go too far"
The sound of his voice made me run faster, even though I was basically out of breath. All the magic I used had worn me out along with the pain of my wounds. Something inside me kept pushing me to break free. Something deep within gave me strength. I don't know what it is but I'm grateful for it.
Bruno is more twisted than I thought. If not that I'm a wanted prisoner in my pack, I would have tried to make my way back there to warn them. They're all in danger. I'm worried about my friends.
