*Unknown POV*
I woke up that morning knowing I had to make the rigorous trip to Grey Sea Pack today for their new Alpha to be crowned. Our kind typically makes this a very big deal, and everyone with an alliance with that pack or a possible alliance to that pack makes an appearance. Grey Sea Pack has never been my favorite pack to visit, however my father always taught me to respect all of our fellow pack Alphas, and never make them a rival unless they prove to be dangerous to the pack or any of our mates. That is also how we’ve become the biggest pack in America. We have close to 500 pack members mostly because we take in all everyone and allow them to express themselves in our pack; we do not force or pressure anyone to do anything. Also, this is a good way for all the unmated wolves socialize with other packs to possibly find our mates. I unfortunately have yet to find my mate and being that I turn 25 this year I sometimes wonder if The Moon Goddess forgot about me. We all know The Moon Goddess makes no mistakes, and since my Beta and Gamma have yet to find our mates I just wonder if we haven’t been looking in the right places.
My Beta knocks on the door quickly pulling me from my thoughts.
“Come In” as I say with a sigh
“Sir all the cars are ready to leave and the private jet is already waiting for us at the airport ready to take off.” He says sounded excited; probably hoping this will be the time he will finally be able to find a mate. I nod my head and dismissed him as I quickly grabbed my wallet and slid it into my back pocket as I headed out the door.
The next few hours didn’t seem as bad as I thought it was going to be mostly because I was with all my guys around to relax and talk about anything besides work. We arrived an hour early to get acquainted with all of our surroundings. Soon everything was on its way, and suddenly had a smell like I have never smelt before hit me as the breeze came by. It smelt like cutting open a fresh watermelon on a beautiful summer night; then it was gone as quick as it came. I tried to follow the smell, but it was nowhere to be found. She was here; MY MATE IS HERE! I looked over at my Beta and Gamma mingling with some random she-wolfs probably trying to get a quick hook up before we make our leave tonight. As soon as they saw the look in my eyes they dropped what they were doing and hurried my way quickly asking what’s wrong. With all the strength I had I mutter the words I never thought I would say.
“My mate, She is here!” My Beta and Gamma looked at each other with wide eyes. Soon my Beta had enough courage to ask.
“Who is she? Where is she?” I looked down sad once again
“I don’t know I only got a slight smell of her as the breeze blew by.” I need everyone on the lookout of someone who is trying to stay away from people. They both nodded as they started announcing everyone to take their places as soon as everyone was outside I immediately smelled her again this time it was so much stronger. I told the guys she was here; she was outside. As they nodded they both started smiling ear to ear. Our future Luna is close, and we will find you tonight.
Once the crowning ended I told the guys to stay outside as I would go investigate inside I smelt her heavily in the kitchen area, however she wasn’t there. I tracked her sent around to the bathroom next figuring that’s where she must have went right after I smelt her the first time, then it lingered outside. I followed it outside only to follow it to a beautiful girl in a maroon dress standing next to the recent Alpha, Luna, the new crowned Alpha Dylan, Beta and what looks like to be his parents. As I walked closer the scent was getting stronger and stronger. Once I was in front of Alpha Dylan our eyes locked, and she admittedly passed out as soon as I spoke a little louder than a whisper.
“MATE”
Everyone’s eyes were wide with shock even with what I’m assuming her mothers eyes who had taken all her strength and speed to catch her in time before she hit the pavement. I ran quickly to her supported her head as rage began to feel my body. Using the deepest most stern voice I could concur I basically yelled,
“What is wrong with my mate?” All of them still clearly in shock my anger rising quicker by the second passing with no answer. My Beta immediately spoke up,
“With all due respect, if you don’t want to see anyone get hurt or anything get broken I suggest someone speak now.” Her mother spoke up.
“I honestly don’t know one moment she was fine congratulating them about the crowning then the next she became pale and nauseous.” Soon as she finished speaking Alpha Dylan spoke telling us he just informed the doctor she passed out, and the doctor is waiting for her at the clinic now. I nodded as I grabbed her up bridal style, and followed the Beta, and parents to the clinic. As I was carrying her out I felt someone staring daggers in my body quickly looked around to see a wolf staring at me with hate and anger, then he looked at the lifeless body in my hold then there was a slight amount of worry in them for a split second before he turned back to a few she wolfs he was flirting with. Odd, what kind of secrets does this tiny girl hold why did no one react to her passing out besides her mother.
Once we arrived at the clinic I put her straight on a bed then was asked to leave while they did a few test. I waited outside the room while waiting on the doctor or nurse to finally come out her parents and brother the Beta now formally introduced themselves. While I wasn’t much in a talkative mood I did the same with a lot of anger and questions. About 15 minutes later the nurse came out, and told everyone the doctor is doing some final test, but she looks like a perfectly healthy human. My eyes grew wide as saucers, and cleared my throat as I said,
“Excuse me did you say human?” Everyone looked at me disappointment clearly in their eyes except for the nurse she looked extremely sad. Samuel finally spoke up for the first time tonight,
“Yes, my daughter is just human she never got her wolf even after she turned 18 in December.”
My Beta spoke up and simply said,
“Wow!” I exchanged a gave him a death glare with him and looked back at her family when Beta Mason spoke,
“Yeah, well I guess now you can walk in, and reject her.” A low deep growl came from me as I quickly snapped,
“I would NEVER; I have been waiting almost 7 years to find her and now that I have I will not drop her just for something she cannot help!” With disgust leaking from every word I said. Are these people serious right now just because she doesn’t have a wolf they are so awful to her all but her mother. There was something else something I couldn’t quite figure out not yet at least. The nurse cleared her throat as we all seem to completely forgot she was still standing right there and said well she is awake now so you all can go in. I told my Beta and Gamma to stay outside; they both nodded. I allowed everyone to walk in before me then as soon as I looked into those beautiful ice blue eyes again.
