Mate?

Danielle POV

Soon I felt myself starting to waken back up, however I felt completely drained of all my energy. I honestly thought it was from all the pressure of the past week from Conner, my anxiety, and everything with the crowning happening. Finally I am able to slightly open my eyes when I realized I was in the hospital wing. I looked at the nurse and the doctor working vigorously on the test they were running on me; I realized they didn’t even notice I had woken up so I started to try to clear my throat. The nurse looked up at me kindly and asked,

“Hello dear, Do you need some water?” I simply nodded and smiled. She quickly grabbed me a bottle of water and returned to the doctor’s side. I quickly gulped down half of the bottle before I finally was able to talk again.

“Excuse me?” I said. The nurse and doctor looked at me both with a patient smile on their face.

“Do you know what happened to me?” The doctor looked down with a sad look on his face when he looked at the nurse who quickly rushed out of the room.

“Danielle, I have some questions for you.” He said with a sad tone in his voice. I simply nodded.

“Danielle has there been someone mistreating you such as your parents, your brother, or anyone in the pack?” I looked concerned as he asked and suddenly looked down at my hands when I realized my arms were badly bruised. My eyes grew wide with shock as I seen what he must have been seeing this whole time.

“N-No sir. I umm.. I don’t really know how these bruises got there.” The doctor looked at me with knowing eyes as he was investigating me.

“Danielle, Dear I need you to be honest with me, because it is our policy if you are not 100 percent honest I cannot help you with any of your treatments ahead.” I looked at him knowing he already knew and sighed.

“Sir I wouldn’t exactly call it mistreating. It’s my best friend, he calls himself my boyfriend, but he’s not really a boyfriend since he is not my mate.” The doctor nodded.

“Please call me Doc, Dr. Dennis, or just Dennis, Danielle now please tell me more.”

“Dr. Dennis he just gets angry sometimes when I don’t call him or text him, and since I do not have a wolf I bruise like a normal human when he grabs me. Honestly that is all.” He nodded.

“I see, however dear I want you know no man or wolf should ever leave a bruise on a lady, especially not a beautiful woman such as yourself. Danielle, I will need his name for my reports. I’m sorry dear it’s just procedure.” I look down at my palms again as they become unsteady and sweaty all at the same time.

“C-Conner O’Brian Doc, but Dr. please do not tell anyone about this. I don’t do anything with this wolf. I have never and will never because I am waiting for my mate, and I don’t want the pack getting the wrong impression of me.”

“Of course dear I would never be the start of rumors; the Moon Goddess already knows there are far too many that circle the pack anyway. However, Danielle I do want to let you know I have to tell the Alpha of any and all events that may seem to lead to or be an assault on another pack member.” I sigh heavily knowing how this will quickly get back to my brother and my parents before I could blink an eye.

“Oh and Danielle, your family is here to see you.” I looked up in surprise as my parents almost on cure came in followed by my brother. My mom hugged me, as my dad was speaking to the doctor about what may have happened. When I looked over to the door I saw the same dark blue eyes as I seen right before I passed out. I started to feel faint once again as all the machines began to beep almost in unison. The doctor rushed over to me as he was looking at all the screens as his eyes grew extremely wide. He turned to the door, and immediately asked,

“Sir, may I ask your name, and do you have anything to tell us?” The mystery man had a smirk grow on his face as he began to talk.

“My name is Aaron Meyer of the BlueMoon Pack” Everyone gasp before he could even finish my eyes still gazing at him in confusion.

“I am her mate.” Silence filled the room as my eyes were practically bulging out of my head by now. I immediately heard the beeping, and started to steady my breathing. I was obviously freaking out when my mom said,

“I believe this is the best time for us to bow out, and let you all chat.” As my started pointing between my brother and my dad. I was in total shock. I honestly couldn’t believe my mate found me this way. I cannot believe I was in a hospital with bruises all over my arms, and my mate found me this way. Once I gained control of my surroundings again I realized Dr. Dennis hasn’t moved. He motioned for Aaron to sit down next to me in the waiting chair then started to speak.

“Alpha, Danielle I now know why you passed out earlier it is because of the mate bond. You see when a mate bond happens between two wolfs they only feel the connection. However, when the bond happens with a human and a wolf the human can react in many different ways; I have never seen a connection make a human black out completely like it did for you, but there is always a first and since you are mated to the top Alpha it does make more sense.” Alpha Aaron nodded as did I. Still having some questions I took this as an opportunity to ask even if I sounded foolish.

“Dr. Dennis will I ever be able to feel the mate bond like Alpha Aaron does? Will I feel faint everytime I am around him?” Dr. Dennis shook his head as he answered.

“Honestly I do not know if you will or will not be able to feel the bond, but the fainting and faintness should wear off over time.” I nodded not knowing what else to say and he made his leave. As I looked over at Alpha Aaron he was so concentrated on something going through his mind he didn’t see me looking at him. He finally looked my way as he spoke up.

“Hello, Danielle is it?” I nodded realizing he must have heard the Doc say my name.

“I am Aaron, I am so sorry about what I have done to you today. I honestly feel awful about it.” Surprise took over my facial expression. He’s apologizing? To me?

“It’s quite alright Alpha Aaron, I’m also sorry you had to meet your mate this way. I am sure you wanted someone strong and a great powerful wolf for your Luna, and I completely understand if you have decided to reject me.” I say as a tear almost escaped. He immediately looked angry and hurt to the core probably, because just found out I was a human.

“Danielle, I would like you to know I accept you as my mate. It doesn’t matter to me that you are a human you are someone that I will love and cherish and thank the Moon Goddess everyday for. And if you please could call me just Aaron not Alpha Aaron, because you are my Luna I would never allow my Luna to address me in such a formal way.” Butterflies, Joy, and Happiness spread through my body. He actually wants me! Someone actually wants me in their life! I will not feel like a burden for someone ever again. I cannot barley hold in my excitement as a happy tear started filling my eyes, and soon enough covering my cheeks. He immediately grabbed a tissue to allow myself to wipe my tears as all I could muster up was a simple yet incredibly meaningful, “Thank you. Thank you for everything.”
