CHAPTER 3 Betrayed by her best friend

Evelyn’s POV

I lay blankless in the pool of my blood, Tristian rushed downstairs to where I was. He had that same fear I had seen before I passed out a while ago but I doubt it was sincere. He rushed out of the House after calling the Ambulance –I saw the care and how sorry he was but I wasn't going to fall for it like I did before. I didn't care about him or his family again! All I wanted was to be safe and I could only wish my baby was alive. I had thoughts of being a bad Mother, I knew I was a bad Mother. I couldn't even protect my Baby. I made up my mind that if I survived this then I was going to run away from the City to where Tristian won't find me. I had no family so there was no one he could use to blackmail me to continue to stay. The Ambulance came and about 3 Nurses rushed to me with a Stretcher, placed me on it, and rode its wheels out. After that, I closed my Eyes in exhaustion; I didn't know anything that happened again after that. I woke up to Stella's voice and the fragrance of my favorite kind of Flowers—Roses. Stella had the most beautiful smile as she sat pretty beside me, with my Palm on hers. "How do you feel now?" She asked me, with a sad face which I felt was fake."I feel pains in my lower abdomen." I explained to her and I wondered if I had just undergone surgery. " The Doctor said it's normal." She played with my Fingers before finally letting out a sigh. " You lost the pregnancy Evelyn…the Doctor said you had a miscarriage." She revealed. My heart twitched immediately even though I had expected it but I felt lonely, sad, and hurt. The hatred I felt for Tristian increased so much and I wished I could just run away to somewhere far from him and his family. " What are you going to do about Tristian? He might kill you someday." I wanted to tell her about my plan to escape but I kept mute, It would be better to keep it to myself to avoid suspicion, I thought. A Nurse came Inside and announced it was the time for my medications and Stella should kindly leave. " Evelyn I know you don't want to leave Tristian because you might never get someone to care and support you but I want you to know that I'm always here—take care." She handed the Flowers to the Nurse before leaving, who kept them in a Vase for me. I waited the whole night for Tristian to come, maybe to apologize for whatever he did wrong but he didn't show up. I took it as my fate and it increased the urge to leave him. I was already discharged and free to go home, so I decided to take a Cab home myself even though the Doctor advised me to call Tristian to send a Driver but I had already made up my mind not to accept any more favors from him. I left the Hospital on my own, although the pains in my lower Abdomen were still there I had to endure them, the only thing on my mind was how to escape from him. I would have preferred to leave the City from the Hospital but I was too scared to do that and I had no money nor a place to stay outside Tristian's home. The day I had planned to sleep over at Stella's House after a fight with Tristian. He came there and banged her door in the middle of the night, requesting that I follow him home. Humbly, I obeyed him and got a good beating afterwards he warned me fiercely to never try to run away from him or else he would kill me and the public wouldn't find out about it. I entered the House and noticed Clothes scattered around the Living room. I recognized some belonged to Tristian and the rest belonged to a Lady. I didn't want to think but my mind had registered something nasty and it made me scared. As I thought of what to do next, I heard a familiar voice, "Take it slowly Tristian…..you don't have this energy when it's Evelyn." No…no, I thought I heard myself say that. It was Stella's voice, but no she was my best friend and What was she doing upstairs with her Husband? The next voice made me lose my cool as I quickly rushed upstairs. "You're much better than the pathetic loser, Evelyn. Enjoy my rod slowly because she's alone all by herself in the Hospital." The latter voice was from Tristian. The sight I saw immediately when I opened the Door was dreadful. For some minutes I was silent and had no control of my environment. I didn't know when my eyes welled up in tears and it dropped on my cheeks. “Stella!” I screamed trying to hold back my tears and immediately the two of them turned to look at me. They were shocked, especially Stella. I couldn't believe that the only friend I had, someone with whom we had so many lovely childhood memories together, was in Bed with my Husband. I didn't want to look at them again, so I rushed downstairs and sat immediately on the Cushion. The tears I've been struggling to hold flowed as I poured out my heart in pain. I had never expected this kind of betrayal from Stella—She was like a sister to me. " Crying won't solve your problems Evelyn…you should just take it as your fate. " I turned to look at her, she was wearing one of Tristian's long-sleeved Shirts. Seeing her in his Clothes got me so angry that I rushed to attack her but she stopped and pushed me away. "Why are you angry? You called every day to tell me how he molested and beat you up ." "That doesn't mean you should snatch him from me." I defended myself. "Evelyn my sweetheart…I had always had eyes on Tristian. He would have married me if your useless Father didn't come with the proposal." I got angry at the nast name she called my Father, this time I pulled her by her Hair and wanted to slap her but I was stopped. I turned to look at who had stopped me, It was Tristian. "Let go of Stella right now! She's my Woman, Evelyn." What he said echoed in my Ear for a while, I turned away and left. Tristian didn't even try to stop me. As I left, I had no idea where I was going. Tears flowed down my Eyes as I kept thinking of the sight where Stella was in the arms of my husband and they were naked. I kept thinking and wasn't looking, suddenly I saw a Car approaching me at full speed but before I could realize what was happening it was too late.
