Chapter 103
Alaric's POV
“What do we do? They are going to take us down so easily, we're outnumbered.” Ryan said standing beside me as she looked around the room to be certain of what we were going up against.
“So what do you suggest we do?” I asked him calmly in the form of a whisper. I knew we were going to find our way out of this eventually because I just wasn’t going to let them win.
Where could Arielle be? Where the hell did these cowards keep her? I knew that even if we didn’t manage to keep them off the other wolves and Alphas, they wouldn’t just let them win.
This is our territory and our home and we weren’t going to sit back and let some outsiders just step in and take what’s ours.
“We fight!”
“Are you sure that’s a good idea? We’re surrounded. We need to calm down, otherwise we’re going to get killed in a matter of minutes.”
“Watch out for their weapons, I have a feeling it’s going to be poisoned to take us down faster, we need to know what we’re doing, one shot and we’re out:”
“Do you have any idea where Arielle can be?” Ryan asked as we kept on looking around as the owner of the guest house stared at us intensely trying to know what we were talking about.
He could hear for all I cared because we were still going to beat his ass.
“I have no idea, I hope she’s around and there are bastards who haven't done anything to try and hurt her, these guys are psychos and she’s all alone, she must be scared thinking we’re on our way to save her.”
“We would if we at least knew where she was, we’ll have to look for her because we won’t be able to escape here if we don’t know where she is.”
“Where do you suggest I look? She could be anywhere right now, but I swear I’d kill those bastards if I find out that they did as much as lay their filthy hands on her, why did they even drag her into this? Why didn’t they take either of us?” I said with so much anger holding up inside as I thought of
whatever Arielle might have gone through.
“Because they know she’ll be weaker and it’ll be easy for them to get to us using her, I’m sure that’s what they’re trying to do but we’ll have to beat them at their one game.”
I wanted to get to her as soon as possible give her a warm hug and tell her everything was going to be fine. I knew she was strong but here’s only a little more I knew she’d be able to take.
“How exactly do we beat them at their one game? I’m blank.”
“We’ll have to escape this one way or the other. You should leave here and go after Arielle and make sure you find her and I’ll hold the rest of them off.” Ryan said sternly.
I didn’t agree with the idea totally because leaving Ryan here alone to deal with them was like signing his death sentence. He was going to be outnumbered and they’ll get to him in minutes.
“I can’t leave you here, these people will kill you, you won’t be able to hold them off even if you try, we need to be together,” I said persistently.
“But the both of us can’t leave here together and I’m sure Arielle is waiting for you to save her so you’ll have to go after her, I’ll be fine.”
The owner set his gaze on us and started laughing hysterically. “Don’t tell me you’re thinking of going after Arielle? You don’t even know where she is, you’ll just get yourself killed.” He said laughing out loud as well as his guards.
“What the hell is funny! I swear if anything should happen to her I’ll make you pay, you won’t get away with this I swear!” I said charging towards him but his guard pushed me with so much force that I fell to the floor.
Ryan helped me up as I tried to regain my strength, coughing out as I was almost choked. What the hell? I stared at the masked guy in black that pushed me and I wondered what sort of strength he must have possessed.
I needed to believe that he wasn’t an ordinary rogue because of the way he pushed me. I placed my hands on my chest and I knew that push could have killed me.
“Are you okay?” Ryan asked worriedly.
“Yes, yes I am.” I managed to say after finally regaining my composure.
“We are going to find Arielle wherever you keep her and we won’t let you get away with this.” Ryan threatened them but they cared less about our threats.
“You’re powerless and you’re defenseless, look around, your men are down and you’re all alone and also surrounded by rogues, what magic do you think is going to get you out of here? Just be realistic and surrender so your death will be less painful.”
“So you haven’t learned anything about us for all these while and I’ll be glad to make you understand, you won’t win this. I’ll take you all down one after the other if I have to, I won’t watch you win.”
“You’re so funny and you need to see how you look saying this, come on boys, round them up.” He said moving backward with some rogues like he was about to watch a movie or something.
“We fight right? What’s the worst that can happen?”
Just then the rogues picked up staggers and poured a liquid on it.
"Wolfsbane?" I muttered under my breath but it was loud enough to hear.
“Oh, it’s even far worse than wolfbane…”
What the hell is more powerful than Wolfsbane?
“Are you hearing this too?”
“What do you think?!”
