Chapter 105 Alaric's POV I woke up with a piercing headache as I struggled to sit up with the way my head and my whole body were aching. I looked around trying to understand what was going on and I saw Ryan also lying unconscious beside me. What was going on? What happened? The last thing I remembered was being in the room with the rogues and we were all fighting. I remembered us winning as we knew we weren’t going to back out of this. Till there was a substance passed on in the token and we slowly lost our consciousness and now we were here. After remembering the danger we were in, I struggled to sit up to understand what was going on as I felt us moving, we were moving. We were on a carriage and it was moving and it was being guarded by rogues all around us. There was no chance of escaping and I wasn’t able to think. I woke Ryan up hurriedly because I knew we'd have better chances of escaping if Ryan was here. I tapped him several times and he finally woke up. He also looked confused at what was happening as he looked around and he finally understood what was going on. He started shaking the cage aggressively. “Who the hell would lock us up here like animals, in a cage?” He yelled angrily and I calmed him down. The last thing we wanted was for their eyes to be on us because it would even make them guard us more and chances of escaping would be slim. “Calm down, and stop yelling, you’re only going to make things worse,” I said looking around to be sure there was no one listening in on our conversations. When it seemed like they were distracted, I decided that I would talk about the situation with Ryan so we could find a way out of all of this. “They’re so many, we have no chances against them,” Ryan said. “I can see that too Ryan, that’s very obvious that the chances of us escaping are very slim. We need to think and we need to think fast, firstly, where do you think they’re taking us?” I asked looking around but the rogues marching in front and behind us, it was impossible to tell where we were or where we were headed. “Hey freak, where are you taking us to? You better let us go because I swear once my people find out what you’ve done, you’re asking for war!” Ryan yelled out but I shut him up almost immediately. “Are you trying to get us killed? Stop causing a scene, don’t you want to get out of this? Think for once and stop asking childishly if not you’ll get the both of us killed.” I yelled at him. “Watch your tone! I wasn’t the one that got us into this mess.” He retorted back in a sharp tone. “Then who? Me? Is that what you’re trying to say?” I snapped back at him. “Who knows, Mr knows It All, you’re the reason we even attended this celebration to begin with.” “Oh really? They were going to get at us no matter what happened so it doesn’t matter if we attended the celebration or not. Let’s stop arguing, we won’t find a way out of this if we keep on arguing.” I said finally calming down. I needed to get out of here to save Arielle and the best chance out of here was working with Ryan. “You’re right, we need to stop pointing fingers so we’ll be able to find our way out. So what are you thinking? What are we going to do?” “I honestly don’t know, I’m trying to think but we can’t try fighting them because we’ll have ourselves killed easily, they’re too much and we’re surrounded. I’m thinking we wait till we arrive wherever they plan on taking us. It’s our best shot.” “Sounds risky, but I have a thought. When he was talking about everything, he mentioned Arielle so we know they have her, but he didn’t mention anything about Selene and she didn’t follow us to the celebration to begin with.” I was reasoning with Ryan and what he was saying was making so much sense already. Selene wasn’t part of this, but where could she be? “You’re thinking she escaped too?” “I’m thinking the same too and if she did then that’s a good thing because she’s our best chance out of here. Once she understands what’s happening, let’s hope that she’ll come after us and come through for us.” I wasn’t sure about Selene but I didn’t voice out because that was indeed our only chance. I didn’t trust Selene that much the way I would have trusted Arielle if the case was different. “So we wait? That doesn’t sound like a good idea all through. She might come back for us and then she might, we need to think of something else just in case. I’m suggesting we pretend to cooperate with them, just till we get a good chance to escape.” “What? Cooperate with these bastards? And besides they’re too cautious, they would never trust us, they’ll be stupid too.” I knew that already but this was still our best chance yet if Selene didn’t come back for us. “It’s a pretense Ryan and let’s just hope that they buy it, because if they don’t, things can get really bad for us.” “Whatever, let’s just hope that your ex puts aside all your beef and decides to come for us, else we’re cooked.” “She’s not my ex..” “Yeah right.” We remained quiet when the cage came to a halt and we looked around and saw that we stopped at a dilapidated building. This was where we were going? What was this place? We immediately laid down like we were still unconscious and weak, which we indeed were. What the hell was this poison stronger than Wolfsbane?
