Kane stood in the doorway and leaned casually against the door frame. “Two things, First, how was it that you knew the newborn’s name, and second, did you find something of interest at the library?”
“To answer your questions, yes, I checked out a book. Come and see for yourself.” I placed the book on the nearest table. Kane strode over, sat down next to me, and looked down to read it.
“Well?”
“It’s just as I thought. It explains a lot, Candra, why I can’t sense you and your unbelievable strength. No wonder Eldon was just as confused as I was.” He walked over to the window, looked out for the longest time before he said anything else.
