Prologue
"Stay away from him. He can't do anything for you,"my heart skipped in fear as my father growled coldly with an angry look on his face.
"He's the one that I want, and you can't do anything about it."
My voice came out weak and fainted as I tried to make my father understand that I was in love with Xavier.
"Why can't you just listen to me, Alessia?"he asked in a low tone, and somehow I found sincerity in his voice.
Why does he want me to leave Xavier? I can't possibly leave him, not even now. After being used and rejected severely, he's the only man that stood by me.
"As much as I didn't want to disrespect or disobey you dad, I won't adhere to your word this time because I love Xavier very much,"
I noticed the sad and pitiful look that appeared on his face but I disregarded it.
I've never disobeyed him before, but I'd do that so as not to lose the only man in my life at the moment.
"I'm your father, so I know what's better for you. I don't trust Xavier to be your Alpha,"I groaned, and threw my head backward.
"Why are you doing this to me, dad? After so many years, I've finally found the man who loved me the same. I do,"
"You asked me to bring a man home, right? So why are you rejecting him?"
"Try to understand me, Alessia. Xavier isn't the man you can trust or…"I interrupted him abruptly.
"Enough dad,"
"Try to understand me instead. I really love Xavier. He's good and trustworthy enough to be the Alpha of the pack,"I explained, walked closer to him and crooked his hand into mine.
He'd promised to make any man that I brought as the Alpha of the pack because he didn't have a male son to inherit the pack after his demise.
I've a twin sister, Amelia.
"Are you sure about this?"he repeated the question twice. I nodded my head consecutively.
"Since that's what you want. I'm going to do it."
"I'm going to register his name as the upcoming Alpha to take over the pack after my demise,"I pulled him into a tight hug, disregarding the pitiful look on his face.
"Thank you dad,"I muttered as I pulled away from the hug.
"I hope you don't regret this decision later in your life,"
Somehow, my body stiffened at his warning but I chose to ignore it.
.
I woke up from my deep slumber, breathing heavily. I sighed as I remembered the dream I'd had while sleeping.
What's wrong? I couldn't help but ask. Though it has been more than a year since my dad died, I keep dreaming about the same warning he'd dropped before he died.
"What's wrong, baby?"I snapped out of my thoughts, and looked startled.
I stared at Xavier, who was laying beside me staring into my eyes with his forest green eyes.
"I'm fine,"my body stiffened as he planted a kiss on my neck.
"Are you sure?"he asked again, and I nodded my head nervously.
"I've a surprise for you tomorrow,"I looked up almost immediately.
Surprise!?
I don't know why but I feel somehow surprised and strange. My heart strangely beats each time I think about the surprise.
Tomorrow is the day he's going to announce me officially as the Luna of the pack.
I've a weird feeling about the surprise.
What is he planning?
