Rejection

830 Words
When I wake up in the morning it’s without anyone’s help, my eyes flutter to the dim light that my room has making the adjustment quick and easy I get out of bed, almost as soon as my feet tough the ground my brother barges in ready to wake me with a hand chosen switch from a tree out back in his hand. He stops short when he sees that I’m already up. “ good no hard work for me to do today, you piece of waist for some reason the alpha and Ash want to see you in the office, and word to the wise don’t make them wait on your lazy ass to get ready.” With one last look at me he leaves with a strong backwards swing of the switch hitting me right on my lower lip causing me to spit blood from my mouth. As I trudged up the stairs to the alphas office I could only wonder what was in store for me today. Knocking on the door I hear from inside a raised voice, “come in Midnight.” So I open the door and step in front of the desk where the alpha sits hands folded on top of the desk. “Alpha, you wanted to see me?” I barely speak above a whisper, bowing my head to show my respect for him. In all these years he is the only one who has not abused me, the only one who looks at me with any amount of pain in his eyes. “Midnight, it has been brought to my attention that you have no wolf, that you stayed out all night without shifting for the first time sleeping in the woods. Now I know it must be true because you still only smell of human.” He said looking like he regretted what was coming next, knowing what he is going to say kills me I won’t survive if they send me there, “ seeing that this is true you are going to be leaving us, going to the lashley school for training fighters!” ” Oh and don’t think you will be getting off easy there you pathetic human trash.” I hadn’t even realized that Ash was here standing in the corner shadows blocking him from view. When I looked at him I made eye contact and for some reason I couldn’t look away. We stared at each other all I could tell you is that my world snapped together and nothing mattered but him. He looked the same way I felt, but he looked away from me to look at his father. ” Would you be able to give us a moment dad, I would like to address something with Midnight.” Turning back to look at me with a look I couldn’t identify I nodded my head in agreement. With that the alpha stood and left the room. as soon as she was gone Ashes eyes shifted from unreadable to love and than to hate, oh how that look killed my it made me look away from him for the first time understanding what was coming my way. “ I Ash Williams, son of alpha Jackson Williams reject you Midnight Star as my mate. You are a disgrace to she wolfs across the world and should never have survived the way you did when everyone else died, you are week and will never be strong enough to be a Luna of a pack.” He almost looked hurt by his own words, but not as hurt as I was my heart shattered. The pain I felt was unlike anything else in the world I could not even compare the abuse to it, but by some mercy I kept my pride and said what I needed to not caring that my wolf would hate me for it. “ I Midnight Star, daughter of the past beta Andrew Star, prior member of the lunar crystal pack, reject you Ash Williams as my mate.” I felt shattered I wanted to curl up in a ball and cry never to stand again, I wanted to beg and plead with him to take me in his arms and love me with all of his heart and soul, but I knew he wouldn’t so I cleared out of his way to let him walk past me and out of my life. When the alpha came back in I held my head high. “ when do I leave, alpha.” I asked without showing emotion. Not wanting to betray to him what had just happened. ” You will have to leave in 30 minutes Midnight I will be driving you we can talk more about it on the way there, for now go pack and meet me at my car please.”
