Ellie's POV Every single limb in Ellie's body was incredibly weighty when the transport van finally rumbled to a standstill. She remained still in the backseat, her restrained wrists clamped, her heartbeat racing in terror and shock. The week preceding this instant was so miserable. One betrayal after the other had broken her into pieces, Daniel's lies, Emily's weakness and her foster family's chilling neglect. And now, all of that was being taken away as she was being sentenced to rehabilitation for crimes she did not commit, having just started to get back on her feet.
