When Liam and I got married, he insisted on having his ex-wife as our official wedding witness.

This was our seventeenth attempt at a wedding, and Molly once again fainted from crying right between Liam and me, forcing the wedding to be called off.

Liam automatically lifted Molly into his arms and announced the cancellation of the wedding.

This time, I did not break down. I simply called out to him calmly, "Liam, if you walk out that door today, there will be no future for us."

The man sighed in resignation, "You know full well that the child she's carrying is mine. She is my responsibility for life.

"You don't want to marry an irresponsible man, do you? Be good, I'll take Molly to the bridal suite to rest first. You calm down the guests, and remember to come back and cook for us when you're done."

After he left, I tore off my veil and tilted my head back to force my tears back.

A call came in from a familiar number, and the voice on the other end was thick with teasing.

"Couldn't go through with the wedding again, huh? You may as well marry me instead."

I said calmly, "If you’ll have me, I’ll marry you."

Chapter 1
When Liam and I got married, he insisted on having his ex-wife as our official wedding witness. This was our seventeenth attempt at a wedding, and Molly once again fainted from crying right between Liam and me, forcing the wedding to be called off. Liam automatically lifted Molly into his arms and announced the cancellation of the wedding. This time, I did not break down. I simply called out to him calmly, "Liam, if you walk out that door today, there will be no future for us." The man sighed in resignation, "You know full well that the child she's carrying is mine. She is my responsibility for life. "You don't want to marry an irresponsible man, do you? Be good, I'll take Molly to the bridal suite to rest first. You calm down the guests, and remember to come back and cook for us when you're done." After he left, I tore off my veil and tilted my head back to force my tears back. A call came in from a familiar number, and the voice on the other end was thick with teasing. "Couldn't go through with the wedding again, huh? You may as well marry me instead." I said calmly, "If you’ll have me, I’ll marry you, Ryan." He was stunned for a moment, then his tone turned serious, "Are you serious? Then I'm coming back to America?" Before I could answer, he said quickly, "Victoria, I'm heading to the airport right now. This time, you don't get to back out." With that, the call ended. When I got back to the bridal suite, I found the lock code had been changed. I remembered the wedding quilt my mom had hand-embroidered for me when she was still alive and was still inside the suite. I ended up calling Liam, but he hung up on me every single time. Ten minutes later, he finally came to open the door. "Sorry, I was giving Molly a back rub just now and couldn't get free to answer your call. She’s gotten so heavy with the pregnancy she can’t reach…" When he saw my blank expression, he immediately smiled and leaned in toward me. "Jealous?" He draped an arm casually over my shoulder. "She's my ex-wife. I've seen every inch of her. Now we're not married anymore, but she's still family. It's just a back rub, don't be so petty." I let out a quiet, indifferent "Mm" and didn't lash out. If this had been before, I would have already thrown a fit. All I wanted now was to grab my things and leave. When he saw I had no reaction, Liam suddenly said, "Oh right, I changed the wedding suite password to Molly's birthday. She's pregnant, she's forgetful." After he finished speaking, he deliberately paused to gauge my reaction. When he heard me only reply, 'Okay,' a flicker of hesitation crossed his eyes, and he reached to take my hand. Suddenly, an 'Ah!' came from upstairs, and Liam immediately shoved me out of his way and rushed upstairs. I fell to the floor, spraining my ankle, which quickly swelled up. When I finally managed to stand up and get the first-aid kit, Liam snatched the first-aid kit right out of my hand, didn't even glance at me, and hurried back upstairs. I grunted in pain and called his name, "Liam." The man's back froze. "I'm hurt too." When Liam turned back, his eyes were full of blame and disgust. "Can't you tell when it's appropriate to be jealous?" With that, he walked away without looking back. It took me a long time to get my breath back and stand again. I stumbled up the stairs, only to find all my things thrown out by the door. My wedding quilt was covered in vomit, stacked in the corner like trash. Just then, Liam came out of the room with the first-aid kit. When he saw me, he gave me orders as if it were only natural. "You're just in time. Molly threw up. Go wash the sheets." My fingers trembled as I lifted the custom wedding quilt. The delicate hand-stitched embroidery was completely covered in filth. But Liam just kept badgering me from behind, "Make sure you wash it by hand, don't use the washing machine. Molly is a light sleeper. She twisted her ankle and can't walk easily, so she can stay in the master bedroom for now." I stood up abruptly, my eyes red as I stared at him, and I couldn’t stop myself from raising my voice, "You two are already divorced. Doesn't she find it disgusting sleeping in another person's wedding bed?" No sooner had the words left my mouth than Molly appeared at the doorway. She'd been listening for who knows how long. She murmured timidly, "Liam, maybe I should just leave." As she said this, she actually broke into sobs. Liam instinctively rushed over and wrapped his arm around her. "Your ankle is hurt, why are you running around!" Molly pretended to push him away. "Just let me go. Tonight is your wedding night, I shouldn’t intrude." Liam squeezed her wrist tightly. "The wedding didn't even go through. What wedding night are we talking about? Molly, you said it yourself back then. After we separated, when either of us remarried, we'd be the other's witness. Forgot that so quickly, hmm?" As he finished speaking, he swept her up into his arms in one motion. In the middle of Molly’s struggle, her pajama top slipped down off one shoulder, exposing a good bit of bare skin. But Liam did not seem to see anything wrong with this at all. Too fed up with watching these two play their sickening little love scene, I held the quilt and turned to go downstairs. After I packed everything up, I lay down on the guest room bed. Surprisingly, I did not suffer from insomnia at all, and fell into a deep, peaceful sleep. But even so, when I was half-asleep, half-awake, a pair of hands crept under the covers.
