Blake POV
Jalasia
She's all I can think about since mom and I left the mall
I've known her less than ten hours and now she's clouding my every thought
"Ahh." I sigh not wanting to pursue a romance when I'm so close to graduating not wanting any drama or the confusion that comes with... Love...
"Alright, alright what's on your mind Blakey you've been sighing for the past five minutes." Mom asks and I blush slightly embarrassed by my actions
"I- I keep thinking about that girl." I admit shyly not wanting to face my mom and she laughs and I cover my face completely over this conversation
"Mommmm!!!" I groan dragging out and she laughs more as she pulls up to the red light
"I mean what about her got you thinking?" Mom asks me and I sit there quietly trying to collect my thoughts
"I th-thought she was c-cute." I said cringing at myself for being such a stuttering mess
"Awww I'm gonna have mix grandbabies!!!" Mom squeals and at that point I literally wanted to die from all this got damn embarrassment
"How did you know I was talking about her? I could've been talking about the girl behind the counter." I said and my mom scoffs rolling her eyes
"That obvious slut? She is definitely not your type hun." Mom says in a matter of fact tone
"Ugh I hate how well you know me, but I really don't want no I don't need a romance right now." I sigh absolutely frustrated
"Baby you can't run from love sometimes it just finds you when you least expect who knows there's a reason for everything the universe must've felt you guys need each other." Mom says and I sat there pondering what mom could mean by that
"Let me explain what I mean the universe sends signs in your life for a reason for instance different people come in your life for different reasons to teach you, to show you a different perspective of things, and to feel." Mom says and I sigh and she drives seeing the light turn green she drives
"When I met your father." Mom starts and I sit up listening intently
"I was fast, I was naïve, I thought I knew it all like I had the whole world figured out at first everything was good he was such a gentleman, but at the same time I met your father that's when I also met Liam." Mom says and I gasp
"So all three of you went to high school together?!" I questioned and mom nods chuckling
"Yes we did Liam was the biggest nerd in high school, had braces, always wore those suspenders, but you see at the time I was young I thought he was too boring and the complete opposite of what I wanted... Not exactly knowing he was what I needed. But I don't regret loving your father because in the end he gave me you and that's all I could've asked for." Mom says genuinely looking me in the eyes before turning her focus back to the road
"People come in your life for a reason and stay in your life depending on the season remember that." Mom says and we pull up to Wendy's to get something to eat for dinner
