What the wolf?

1190 Words
Athena POV I heard noises of the leaves crunching, and snapping of twigs all around me, and it made me worried. I honestly thought something was coming after me. When I turned around I found this beautiful chocolate brown wolf with blue eyes. He stepped back as if I had spooked him. I could feel my body start to shake even though I wanted to pet this wolf. I had a feeling this was no ordinary wolf though. I could here my wolf Saphera screaming in my head " Mate ! Mate! Mate!" in such an excitement and wouldn't stop. I had to fight with her to calm down. I felt my head start to hurt, followed by my nose bleeding. I felt the drops run down my face little by little. I began searching my pocket to try and find something to stop the bleeding. I eventually sat down on the ground and the wolf laid his head on my lap. Hi their you sweet thing.... I wonder what your name is? I thought to myself. My name is Athena. I watch as this wolf stood back up and it looked like it was starting to shift into a man when I suddenly heard my name in the far distance being called and he immediately stopped and stepped back recognizing the sound of another alpha. I jumped up hearing my name after a while all I could do was stand their looking at this wolf just standing their staring at me. He then c****d his head to the side and some how I knew he was thinking the same thing as me and unfortunately that was that I had to go. Just as the wolf came back up to my side I said good byes, but I could not help but to be curious, especially when I was able to see that his eyes were no longer like a normal wolf's eyes but now looking more human. I turned to the wolf once more and petted him as I said my final good byes to the wolf and then I took off running. As I run faster and faster I began to feel a tugging feeling in my heart longing to know more about the wolf with the human eyes who just so happened to be my wolfs mate. Maybe I can go back to that same spot tomorrow while I am on my run and find out more about it. Just as I finally made it back to the gravel road leading to the house it starts to pour rain heavily. After running about 15 miles the rain felt so good especially since it cooled me down. My clothes were soaked and I felt a warm shower was going to be well needed. As usual this weather made my straight hair frizz so much. I looked like someone made a fuzzy ball from my hair then stuck it on my head. I remind myself to buy more humidity frizz free hair shampoo and conditioner, I couldn't believe how much of a mess I looked when I finally got in the door and saw my self in the small mirror my mother had hung many years ago. I ran my fingers through my hair to try and undo the frizz and untangle my hair with no luck whatsoever. My dad looked at me like this was something new to see when it always happens every time winter or the spring rain comes around. "So How was your run? I couldn't find you when I was doing my rounds around the farm nor on the way back from the store." My father Ron asked. Sorry daddy I didn't mean to worry you. I guess I went further than I thought. My watch said I went 15 miles from the house, the spot in the forest where I stopped and back to the house. I found a wolf to dad, he walked right up to me. He had beautiful chocolate brown fur. He came out of nowhere and all I heard were snapping twigs and the crunch of the leaves from all around me. It honestly scared me until I saw the wolf, but I don't think it was an ordinary wolf. My dad just sat their listening to me blabber on like I was an i***t. He just kept listening with his eyebrows arched especially when I told him my wolf was screaming mate over and over again when we saw the wolf in the forest. When I was done blabbering on about my run and the wolf I went to my room to clean up before dinner. I didn't want to talk about it anymore because I was not sure what to expect. After my scolded hot shower and getting dressed I brushed my hair out and braided it as I went downstairs and began making dinner. I decided corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, and steak medium rare would be great for dinner. After one long day I got all my night time chores done and headed in my room to get ready for another shower. As I laid out my clothes for the next day I wished I would have just waited to take the shower at the end of the day. Just as I was getting ready for bed finally I heard the lonely howl of the wolf making me jump, I forgot to do the dishes, so I ran down the stairs so I could finish the dishes up. After I was done I went to my room ready to relax and I was finally able to flop down on my soft silky sheets. I curled up between the crisp cool sheets feeling the coolness of the breeze as it came through my window. I couldn't sleep knowing my mate was out their, so I turned on my t.v. I finally found one of my favorite movies and of course I start to scream about it because non of what the show is true. I at this point still couldn't figure out why I watched Twilight. Vampires do exist and they don't sparkle. They can't use animal blood as a substitute. They had other ways of getting what they needed. Us wolves, can kill vampires, but we have to still have holy water, stakes made of wood covered in dead mans blood. Before my screaming got worse at the t.v. I decided it would be better to change the channel. When I did I finally settled in after re-fluffing my pillow and fixing my bed sheets. Falling asleep to Scooby Doo I was so happy with the wind blowing on me smelling the scent of leaves, fresh cut grass, and an unidentified smell I couldn't place. When I was finally out I heard my door creak open and felt my covers being pulled up onto me. When I opened my eyes to look all I caught was a glimpse of my dad walking out the door and another Scooby Doo movie playing. I quickly dozed back out in hopes of good things to come tomorrow.
