Prologue
"Stop right there! Don't you dare ambulate your pace to me.", Amey rumbled, and it all gave a heavy jerk and made her body shudder. It was the highest pitch that Meghna had ever heard, in her whole life. Those words finished her off. Probably, she couldn't bring back a day to her memory during which she'd wept so much. And now its been five days, since she slept properly, in his arms.
"Amey, trust me. Please. It wasn't me. Why would I even betray you? Just think. I didn't do this, Amey. Please, give me a chance.", Meghna pleaded. Her inner combat with her tears, came to an end. She lost. Tears, started diving off the waterline of her eyes.
It was the same Amey, who'd never raised his voice from day one. No! He wasn't the same. He wasn't Meghna's Amey, now
Amey's long strides, made her befuddlement more worser. It grew to the worst, when she apprehended that he has their divorce papers, in his hands.
"I want you to sign these.", He dictated flinging off the papers, in front of her face.
"You're ready to disown me.", she whispered. Her brows had gone narrowed in not putting regard in as true. Her eyes were already dripping as if someone had broken the dam, in her.
He stood, still. He was hurt. The hurt was well visible, in his eyes. She knew it. How on the earth could she make him lap up, that she wasn't the one who is on the hook there!
Meghna, angled off to pick up those partition papers, that fate had provided her.
"You can't do this, Amey. You love me!", She gulped. In an unusual manner, it was she who reminded him that he loves her.
"I loved you!", he yelled, gritting his teeth. Taking his hands to loosen the tie around his neck; his fists clenched. "Not anymore.", he enjoined, raising his voice.
She'd no other way. Though, she felt confounded and she'd never told him that she has love for him and she'd fallen for him.
Bracing up herself, wiping off the trailing tears; and scarfing down those lumps, that seemed to shut off her throat, she gasped. "I love you, Amey!"
His racy teal eyes, showed no impressions of changing the decision; ever after hearing those three words. Instead, an evil smirk spread over his super-sexy face.
"I don't care!", he said with the same smirk.
She cannot sit down, and burst out anymore. She wanted to be strong. She wanted hurdle upon, all those barriers.
"Alright, Amey. I am taking up the offer of working for Avant-Garde. ", she stuttered between sobs to complete the sentence. His head craned towards her.
"New York!", she gasped.
"I don't give a f**k. I just want you to sign in these papers."
"I can't!", She said audaciously, on tearing off those papers to bits. His anger, bursted forth. His loosened fists, clenched all again.
"You're testing my patience, Meghna!", he uttered a threat.
"I begged you to trust me. You didn't. I am moving away now, just to get back my strength. This is not permanent. I'd promised you that I wouldn't leave you. And you know that i do not break promises."Meghna, opened up her heart. He stood, immobilized. It was him who was not trusting her words.
"I will always be Amey's Meghna! No matter what.", on leaving out a dry smile, that didn't seem to knead Amey's heart, she strode to her room, with a depressed pace. Amey, flailed his fists roughly, bumping against the air. He started walking away, in usual long strides; pacing along their apartment.
