I sit on a fallen log in the forest and breathe deeply.
I needed a moment to myself. Stella woke up and was having a breakdown. She was yelling at her parents because they mentioned bringing Mitchell to see her. For some reason, Stella is refusing. She doesn’t want to see Mitchell at all, and no one understands why.
I understand. She’s traumatized and doesn’t want to face Mitchell yet. Yes, it will hurt him deeply. But not everyone reacts the same way after going through something so awful that they feel like they’ve changed.
When I ran from the facility, all I wanted was to find Damian. I needed my mate more than I needed anyone else. However, I believe Stella is disgusted by what happened to her, so much so that she can’t face the man that she loves yet.
