I made it back to my room, quickly a bit worried it was messy. However, it was spotless. I was starting to get nervous, I knew it wouldn’t take Ezra long to bring us lunch. I removed my blazer and laid it on the armchair. Then I ran into the bathroom looking to tidy something but the maids had cleaned in there as well. Geeze I never wished for something to clean so bad in my life. I needed something to do with all this nervous energy.

I was so nervous I decided to text my mom. I was only able to send a quick Hey how are you doing, see you Sunday. I knew if I spilled the Ezra beans she’d call and I can’t handle that right now.

So I texted the twins, they had been sending pictures of their gown options, and 20 options later they still couldn’t decide. As I sent my last reply, I heard a knock at the door.

"Deep breath in, deep breath out", I whispered to myself and I walked over to the door. It was a waiter pushing a cart of food, and no Ezra.

“Lunch is Served ma’am”, as he removed the covers from the food. Uh-huh, yes my mistake of course I went to hand him money, for him to reply, it’s been covered, ma’am. He bowed and walked out of the room gently closing the door.

Not a second later another knock on the door, I opened it, and it was Ezra standing there just as tall and muscular and fine as a man could be. As I took in his physique, when I got back to his face I noticed his smirk.

I cleared my throat, trying to hide my embarrassment, he stepped closer to me. “ You shouldn’t be embarrassed about looking at what was made for you, I know I’m not”. He said. Then he handed me a single white rose. “Sorry I wasn’t here with the food, I saw a rose bush outside and I thought, I wonder if she likes roses”?

He said, looking me in my eyes. I honestly could melt right here. Get yourself together Lyn he’s just a man.

“Yeah, a sexy man, that could break our back in the best way”- replied Accalia

“Will you shut it, we have to have a very important conversation before there will be any back-breaking”. I yelled at her.

As fine as he is I need to be serious. “Thank you”. I said, taking the rose and our fingertips touched and those little sparks ripped through me. “ I do love roses”.

“Won’t you shut the door and let’s eat first”. I said as I walked towards the table in the room needing some space. Hopefully eating lunch will help me calm myself.

We’ve been eating for half an hour now. There was a lot of food. Steak strips, mashed potatoes, pulled pork, chicken sandwiches, fruit, chicken salad, French fries, and a few different tarts. The amount of food wasn’t the problem. It was me, I was too chicken to start the conversation.

“Everything, good”? He said.

I blew out a big breath and started. “ I want to start by saying, I f****d up. I allowed after years of ignoring his advances. And turning heaps of other men away. I gave in and on the first day here I allowed Casey one shot at kissing me. I’d never been kissed before and I regret wasting it on him cause I met you less than an hour later”. I blurted it out. I knew it would piss him off, but I hoped he would forgive me.

I looked into my hands, waiting for him to say something. I finally got the courage to look up and he was smiling. f*****g smiling.

“Why are you smiling, aren’t you upset”? I asked.

“ I’m not thrilled, but upset, no. It explains his irrational behavior towards you. He thinks he has a shot. But baby no I’m not mad” he said to me taking my hand.

“ I am however worried about telling you my truths, they are not as innocent as yours”. He said with a guilty face.

“Well best be on with it”. I stated ready to hear it all. One thing is for sure we can’t move forward with secrets.

“How about we move this conversation to the couch”. He suggested.

We sat down, and I decided to hug a pillow for comfort. He wasn’t quite facing me, as he started, I could tell he was worried I wouldn’t be as receptive to his past indiscretions as he was to mine.

“ First let me start with my most current situation, Tonya”. It had taken everything in me not to growl, Accalia was pissed but we both knew she was a part of his past. “ I did share a closeness with her, I had decided once I became Alpha that frequent dalliances weren’t a good thing. So I essentially made her my girlfriend in the loosest sense of the term. I also made it very clear, though I was not actively looking for you, my mate, I wasn’t interested in a chosen or giving her Luna-like treatment.

Ezra explained to me about how he’s slept with a total of 10 women, some more than once. Tonya is the only one from his pack, he said some were human, and most she wolves. He also informed me he did sleep with Tonya before the Summit. And how the conversation they had, led to him ultimately cutting her off before even stepping foot into the castle.

We talked for a while, about my expectations, how Tonya’s actions were the stuff of nightmares when it came to me being mated. I openly explained to him how I couldn’t leave the comfort of my pack to be, subjected to the delusions of a she-wolf who would stop at nothing to get what she wanted. He assured me he wouldn’t allow anything or anyone to harm our bond.

I know he means it, but I saw Tonya’s eyes, though what she said out on that balcony wasn't true. Her intent was clear, Ezra was hers whether I liked it or not.

“She can’t have him, he’s goddess-given, and I’ll eat her face before I allow her to think she has a claim on what is mine”. Said a very pissed-off Accalia.

I know physically I could handle Tonya. I just need Ezra to prove to me that he was worth the emotional turmoil.

“I already planned on dealing with Tonya, I just didn’t want to do it here, but I want you to come back to the pack with me. OUR pack, I’ve only been alpha just over a year I want to show you everything I can. I want to hear your ideas, and build with you, make a home with you”. He said pleading with me.

“A week, to make it feel like home”. I offered. How about six weeks”. He rebuttals. I looked at him with an arched eyebrow. "Ok 4 weeks, please, a month". You drive a hard bargain Alpha Ezra but fine, My brother's ceremony is in a month. So if all goes well we can announce our own Luna ceremony that day.

He smiled the biggest smile I had seen from him yet. And he pulled me into the biggest, warmest hug I’ve ever been in. He felt so good and so right. I just hope this worry I have in the back of my mind is just nerves and nothing more.

“Eislyn, my sunshine,”? “Yes,” I said with a giggle. “Will you accompany me to the farewell ball tomorrow evening, I’d love nothing more than to be your arm candy, he stated with a sexy grin”.

“Ezra, I thought you’d never ask”. I said shaking my head. But first, “Yeah”? He said. You have to meet my parents.
