I was enjoying the most tantalizing kiss from Eislyn, it honestly felt like the first time I had ever kissed a woman. Wishing I could take her back to the room and enjoy her, but I knew that wasn’t going to happen soon.

Then I heard the clearing of a throat, and instantly realized it was her brother.

“We need to talk, now”. He said sounding kind of peeved which isn’t common for Adir. Besides, why would he be upset Eislyn is mine.

Then I noticed his little shadow of a Beta he looked like if he could he’d rip my lips off and my hands for touching and kissing Eislyn. That instantly sent Roman and me into a possessive mode.

“What” I heard Eislyn say sounding a little perturbed by the interruption. Ok good, so it’s not just me.

Adir walked over to us he seemed to be calculating how he was going to approach the situation. But it was the Beta that had me concerned. Was I going to have to rip his face off? I can be ruthless when I need to be but I don’t want to taint my first meeting with Eislyn. Or losing an ally in Adir cause I killed his best friend and Beta.

So I quickly linked Frederick. “ I don’t know what you're doing but come stand near the southwest balcony door in case I need you”

He immediately responded, “Boss are you ok”?

“ I think so, Adir seems kind of tense and wants to speak, but his Beta is irritating me and Roman”.

“OK, Boss I’m stationed out here ready if you need me”

Then Adir speaks. “ I’m going to make this plain I think you deserve that much and this is a sensitive topic. It was brought to my attention that you…. He looked at Eislyn with sadness and I’m confused what was that face about he was about to drop a bomb on me, s**t does he know about Tonya? Before I could interrupt him, he said, Beat women”

The F**k? Eislyn slightly stepped away from me and man did that hurt. Roman was going crazy in my head and all I could do was stare at him. Where the f**k did that come from?

I got my bearings. Looked at him with certainty in my voice. “ I have never, HIT! Or physically hurt a woman, except for training or lethal force in attack attempts against my pack.

He seemed to relax as well as Eislyn with my words Adir seemed to believe me. Then that Bastard Casey stepped up and said, “ That’s not what your frightened, girlfriend said”

“Girlfriend”? Eislyn softly said with a disappointed tone.

I looked at her, but she wouldn’t look me in the eyes she just stepped closer to Adir.

“ I don’t have a girlfriend,” I said with gritted teeth… “I..I. I wanted to speak, but then I heard.

“Oh there you are I’ve been looking everywhere for you” came the infuriating voice of Tonya. She sashayed over to me and rested her hand on my arm. As she strategically placed herself right in Eislyn's view. I tried to side-stepping to get her hands off me but she knew exactly my next move and gripped me tight. Eislyn was sizing up her grip like she could rip it off.

“ Tonya”, I gritted out. Get your hands off of me as I pried her hands off of me.

“ So this isn’t your girlfriend? Casey asked me. Who does he think he is and what exactly is his stake in this? I’m starting to think he is obsessed with my girl.

“ If you must know, NO. Tonya is NOT and I repeat not my girlfriend”. I started completely over the censorious tone.

“When I came here early I was,” she said crossing her arms pushing up her chest and pouting, you know I didn’t like it when she did this in the past and I hated it more now.

“Look, Ezra, you’re a really good guy from what I know but this, he says gesturing towards Tonya It is too much and I won’t let anyone hurt Eislyn. Mate or not”.

A low defensive growl came from my chest.

At that point Frederick stepped onto the balcony.

I turned to Eislyn stepping towards her. She took a step back. I could see the hurt and confusion on her face. “ Eislyn please look at me I can explain all of this if you just let me without the audience please”. I said practically begging her. Beside myself completely because I begged no one.

I noticed the smirk on Casey’s face and whatever his plan was he had exceeded it.

“Uh, what is there exactly to explain we’ve been sleeping together for the better part of a year”. Tonya said delighted in the fact she got to Eislyn.

“ That’s not the point, I broke off our, situationship, is more of what I’d call it if we’d needed to label it”. I spit out.

“Eislyn please…”

She just shook her head and backed up more saying she needed some space, and walked off. All be it with her head held high.

I started to follow her but Adir stepped in my way. “ Don’t” just give her space he said”.

“Don’t tell me how to handle my mate” I looked at him and this was probably the first time I’ve ever wanted to hurt Adir.

“Let’s just get out of here I can make you feel better”, Tonya stated trying to sound sexy.

All while still staring Adir down. “Shut up, Tonya you’ve caused enough confusion,” Frederick said to her.

“Your mate is my sister, and I’ve known her longer than you I know it is hard but leave her be for now”

“Maikiah, my love can you go check on Lyn please”. He stated. When did she even get out here? “ Yes dear, she replied. She must have linked Adir 'cause he turned to her and nodded. As well as instantly visibly relaxing.

Eislyn ~

I refuse to deal with this I honestly refuse, I think to myself as I walk away avoiding the hoard of high-ranking wolves.

Then a link starts coming through, I have my walls up hard but I realize from the gentleness of the energy is Maikiah. “ Hey sis, I’m not in the mood right now”. I quickly say to her.

Cool neither am I found the kitchen I’m going to steal ice cream and meet you in your room in 5 minutes. I let out an exasperated sigh, she knows she’s playing dirty. Fine I huff out."

I get back to my room I strip off my clothes and throw on a triangle sports bra and my lady boxers. I head over to the couch in my room in start flicking through channels. More like 15 minutes later Maikiah is in my room. In her pink silk pajama bottoms a lacey matching top and a pink and orange robe.

She handed me a spoon, they had caramel crunch ice cream and she had her butter pecan. We sat on the couch and watched some of my favorite human movies “Legally Blonde” and Wedding Crashers followed by, “Devil Wears Prada”.

I was so grateful Maikiah didn’t bring up the Ezra, Casey, Tonya the C**t situation once. She gave me the peace I needed to think.

As the credits rolled on our last movie I just blurted out. “He f****d her yesterday, Maikiah. She just looked at me. I mean did you see her. I mean, well huh she was beautiful. Just stinking beautiful. Her attitude sucked, though ugh”. I rushed out.

“Why? See this is why I didn’t want a mate. I just knew I would get a player who had some bimbo hanging on his arm”. I said starting to spiral.

“Breathe, Maikiah said, as she held my hands. Now tell me, what exactly is bothering you, but first a deep breath”.

Taking a deep breath. I started. If I’m being honest I blame myself. She looked at me confused. I talked this up I said over and over again how I would have a hard time now look.

“ I wouldn’t consider downstairs a hard time, maybe not ideal but hard I wouldn’t go that far”.

“ You didn’t see the look in her eyes Maikiah she wasn’t done. She wants him. She wants what’s mine”

“She can’t have him I’ll rip her to shreds before I let her. Mate is mine. And mine only”. Accalia quickly reminded me.

“And what about the abuse accusations”? I questioned hoping they were false.

“Adir asked me right after he accused him. Which he’s upset that he didn’t do that first but he went into overprotective brother mode when Casey brought it to his attention. I’ve known Ezra not super personally. But he came to our pack when he was 15 and yes I was only 12 but people talk. Ezra is not a woman abuser. My father also attested to that. Yes, Ezra is his Alpha but you are his Luna now and my family he would never put you in harm's way”. Even if that meant giving up his Alpha's misdeeds. Even though he doesn’t have any, besides the bad choices in Girlfriends. honestly this is why we should stick to letting the goddess choose humans are awful at picking".

Luna. The word was fleeting across my thoughts. Filled with relief I trust Maikiah and her dad. Dealing with a delusional ex is one thing. Tethering myself into an abuser. Absolutely not, I’d walk out of this room now and go reject him and Accalia would even agree.

“Then there’s Casey why would he tell Adir something so vicious about another person”? I thought aloud.

She kind of looked at me with sadness. “Do you think it’s because of that kiss”? I asked.

“ No not necessarily because of the kiss itself. But I’m not sure it helped even his delusions”.

“s**t”! I groaned loudly.

“ I told you don’t do it” Accalia ever so graciously pointed out.

“Lia we’re doing I told you so's now”?

“ Crush or not, Casey is a Beta. To make such accusations about an Alpha without proof can cause lose of title or get him killed”. What’s wrong with him I refuse to believe I’m the reason he’d stoop so low. That’s insane…Right?

Maikiah and I talk for a few more minutes and we came to the conclusion. That dinner will be served in an hour and we’re hungry and nothing can be solved on an empty stomach.

With my makeup still done from earlier I do a quick refresh and I get dressed. Dinner is semi-formal attire so I decided to wear. Smokey blue maxi skirt with a gorgeous shimmery chiffon. That puddles to the ground allowing the skirt to flow as I walk so it’s not restricting. With a matching corset top with scattered shimmering crystals on the front, and a lace-up back. Made out of the most beautiful satin. I paired it with a nude strap sandal. For my other accessories, I wore oversized studded moonflower earrings, a diamond tennis bracelet, and my silver crescent moon ring.

Heading over to Maikiah and Adir’s room so she could lace my back up. Just when I saw Tonya headed to the elevator on our floor, I was able to slip into a corner before she noticed me. Now why exactly would she be on our floor?

Now in Maikiah’s room, she was fully dressed and I was fully laced and cinched to the gods. I honestly wasn’t sure I’d be able to eat in this thing but I looked hot. Maikiah was in a beautiful pink dress similar to her dress from earlier but longer. This dress was an off-the-shoulder cap sleeve dress, with beautiful stitched flowers all over it making it look so romantic. The inner boning in the top created the perfect cinch and pushed her boobs up to the goddess. With a gathering of the waist to give her already awesome figure ultimate curves. She also wore a nude heel and accessorized with a dainty gold choker necklace and dainty gold rings.

I was headed to the dining hall, I started to get nervous. I guess sensing my change. Maikiah linked me, “My beautiful sister no matter what happens you are worthy of respect and also you look damn good, so let’s go in this room and show this skank why he’ll choose you and show him. If doesn’t get his She-B***h on a leash, that is nothing to have any Alpha want you as their chosen”. Completely startled by Maikiah's vulgar for her yet very accurate depiction of the situation here. I held my head up high, put my best foot forward and strutted my sexy ass right into that room”.

Not standing that far from the entrance Adir did a possessive growl a walked fast over to Maikiah shielding those amazing balloons for a chest from the rest of the room. I smirked at him. As I continued to walk I felt lots of gazes on me. But his was the strongest. I allowed myself a brief second to look at him. Doing my best to show no emotion other than confidence. I quickly broke eye contact with him. I completely ignored him for the rest of the night.
