Love Me Like You Did

Chapter 5

Amelia's POV:

"Will this do?" I asked Madi, as I show her a black dress. "Nope" She said. "How about this one?" I asked, showing another black dress. "No" she answered as she gave me this "are you crazy look."

So basically I have no taste for fashion. I’m happy with a simple shirt and jeans. Not a fan of make up as well. Some people thought that I'm a lesbian but I'm not. I’m just a fan of simple things. Madi, on the other hand, has a really good taste. She really pays attention on every detail. She doesn't settle for anything simple. From simple extra-large shirt, she can turn it into a beautiful, elegant dress. She is really talented.

"How about this?" I asked her. "If this is another black dress -" Madi didn't finish her since she saw the black dress I'm holding. "Not good, I guess huh?" I said, sheepishly. "Do you have another color on your mind besides black?" she asked. "Yellow" I answered, showing a yellow dress. Madi look at me with disbelief.

"Unbelievable" she said as she was about give up and turn around. "I can't believe you. You really don't a taste when it comes to fashion. There are a lot of colors in the world. 7 colors in the rainbow and yet, you are stuck with the color yellow and black-" She stop when she saw the red dress I'm holding that I'm about to put back.

"Whoa, stop." She said, as went towards me and scan the dress. "This is perfect." She squeals. "Just add some small pearl and we are good.” She as she looked at me. "I take it back, you do have a taste for fashion but you still have a lot to go through."

"Thanks for the complement." I joked. "But you are right, it is a beautiful dress." I paid for the dress and head to the jewelry store to buy the locket that my grandma always wanted. Today is such a great day. Nothing will stop me.

"SOLD OUT" Madi and I yelled at the same time. "Yes ma'am. The locket was sold out.” The saleslady said as she uncovers her ears. "But that can’t happen; I told you that I will buy it. I'm sure that there are many stocks left." I said, hoping that there would be another one.

"I'm really sorry ma'am. But this was the very last one. “She said, pointing to the locket. “Someone already bought it. He is going to pick it up today." I watched the saleslady almost put the jewelry in the paper bag. "Miss, this can't be.” I said as grab her hand, trying to stop her from putting the locket in the paper bag. "That was supposed to be a present for my grandma. She always loves that vintage locket. Please, let me buy it." I said as trying to keep my tears from falling. "I'm sorry ma'am but I can't." She said as she loosens her grip then put then jewelry in the bag.

"Is everything ready?" A voice popped out from behind. He must be the buyer. I turned around to see the buyer and to my surprise, I saw........ Wait, Is that NATHAN WILLIAMS.

"NATHAN WILLIAMS?" Madi and I said, shocked. "He is buyer." the saleslady said. "You're the buyer?" I asked. "It depends on what I'm buying." He said. "By the way, do I know you?" He asked confused.

He was at the stall just yesterday. "Yes, we know you." Madi smiled. "I'm Madi and this is Amelia, my best friend. We are students from Kingdom Valley High." Wow! Madi really knows how to make a good conversation. Unlike me, she doesn't stutter at all.

"You stop by at the stall yesterday with Quiel." I said. Since he is not my crush, I didn't stuttered at all. "Ah, yes! You own the character collectible stall?" He asked me. "Uhm no, She owns it." I answered as I point at Madi. "I'm just helping her out." I smiled and Nathan nodded.

"I see. What are you doing here?" he asked. "I was about to buy the locket for my grandmother but it turns out you already bought them." I said with a sad tone. "Sorry about that." he said. "No, it's okay. It's not your fault. I was frustrated that I saved all my allowance for that necklace." I said.

"Why do you need the necklace for?" he asked. "It's actually a gift for her grandma." Madi smiled. "She's turning 70 at the end of November. Amelia is planning a surprise for her."

"But it turns out, I'm the one who got surprise knowing the locket is already sold out." I said as I gave a weak smile. "Don't worry, it's just a necklace. I'll find another gift for her."

Not wanting to make Nathan guilty, I wanted to go out from the jewelry store but I guess one person won't. Ahem, Madison Whites, need to go. She and Nathan on talking until the saleslady gave the necklace to Nathan.

"Listen, I'm really sorry about the necklace.” He said. "No, Its fine. Again, it's not your fault." I said.

"Why don't I give you guys a ride home." he offered. I was about to decline when Madi said yes. Why didn't I see that coming? Of course, Madi's crush is offering us a ride home. "Great. Amelia?" He said turning to me. "Amelia, Nathan is offering us a ride home.” Madi said. "That's wonderful." I smiled.

P.S. I will only do this to support Madi.

"Nice, Come on." Nathan said as he walked out of the store while we both follow.

"What's your grandmother's name?" Nathan asked as he took one fries. "Chantella Falcon" I answered, as I took a sip of my coke.

Currently, in Nathan's car eating McDonalds. Nathan dropped Madi first and on our way to my house, he got hungry so he decided to visit drive thru. "So your full name is Amelia Falcon Royale?" He asked. "You got that right?" I chuckled.

Nathan and I talked all throughout the drive way. Never though, he would be this friendly. No wonder why Madi is high over heels for him.

"Are you sure that this is your house?" He asked confused. Of course, his best friend lives here too. "Yeah" I answered. "Did you know that Quiel lives here too?" he asked again. "Actually, I do. He lives across the street.” I answered.

"That's so nice; I think I have another reason to visit him." He said with a serious voice but then laughed which I join. "Anyways, thanks for the ride." I smile as I get off the car. "No problem. See you around." He said. "See you around." I said as I wave goodbye and watch him drove off.

You don't see that every day.
