“How can I help you, Tiffany?” I asked trying not to act not how she last treated me.
“I heard you are pregnant for the Alpha… My Alpha.” She said as she made her way inside my room uninvited.
“Yes, I am,” I replied curious to see that look of anger on her face.
“I came to give you one last advice.” She said as she growled under her breath.
“Which is?” I asked.
“The Alpha will never love you, care for you, or for that thing you are carrying in your womb! In case you have forgotten, you are just an ordinary maid who is yet to know her wolf or should I say you don't have a wolf at all and you are just a pathetic orphan!” She said threatening and mocking me at the same time.
“I bet you cannot stand the fact that the Alpha cares for me and you see that as a threat to your stay here right?, Just so you know the Alpha cares for me and there is nothing you can do about that!.” I shot back at her while trying to convince myself that nothing was going to change.
“I will do everything to get you and that bastard child of yours out of this pack!.” Tiffany said as she walked out angrily.
I dozed off thinking of what my new life would be like henceforth.
***************************
Ms. Grace showed up the next morning with a tray of food in her hands. She didn't say anything to me, but her eyes did the talking.
I try not to look at her, or I'll probably die trying. "You're weird." She said, "Getting pregnant from who-knows-who, and also gaining the Alpha’s favor. I still don't understand what you are, Miss Hart, but I can't get to trust you a bit. I heard you have a hybrid blood but you have yet to see your wolf nor have you unlock your witch powers."
"It's okay not to trust me, Ms. Grace.”
"Tell me one good reason why I should believe you."
"Like I said, you don't have to."
"I saw the way The Alpha attended to you, it seems like he does know who is responsible. Or... is there something I'm missing out?"
"Yes, I told him. After all, he's the Alpha king, isn't he? He deserves to know everything."
"Your truth will be out someday and I will do everything to find out your secret," She said as she walked out.
How was I to know that the alpha's simplicity was only for a short while? After the night of the incident with Tiffany, he's been acting differently around me like I don't even exist. I'm not jealous, don't get me wrong. I'm only after the fact why he had to change overnight all because of whatever Tiffany must have told him.
He stopped checking on me or how I was feeling. He never cared if I had eaten or not. This gave Ms. Grace every right to handle me however she wanted. Despite knowing the level of my pregnancy, she never cared. She'd seize my breakfast and lunch meal, and when I ate at night, I only had a few spoonfuls to eat.
I wasn't much bothered about myself, after all, I wasn't the food type of person. I wanted my baby to survive, guess that's my only reason for living. Just last night, he had shared a lovely night with Tiffany. I'm not actually against him with Tiffany, don't get me wrong, I just feel like he shouldn't have forgotten the fact that I'm still here, carrying his child. And for so many reasons best known to him, he has automatically forgotten I ever existed.
I was tired of pretending everything was alright. I had to pick the courage to meet him. Luckily, Tiffany wasn't in his room with him.
"Miss Hartt, I wasn't expecting to see you today." He said reluctantly.
"Me neither."
"So, how may I help you?"
"I want to let you know that I can't continue with this anymore," I said.
"And what's that supposed to mean?" He asked.
"I think it's best if I abort this child and we'll both go our separate ways." I threatened, hoping he would see the reasons for my words. But no, he felt less concerned.
His cold expression was unexplainable as he looked me deep in the eyes and said to me. "Well, you can go ahead with that. After all, getting you pregnant was a mistake."
My heart bled at his words. I was beginning to regret why I had come here in the first place. Nevertheless, I needed to tell him how I felt. Not for my sake, but for the sake of the child even though abortion wasn't my expectation.
But since he had said those words right to my face, I guess I have no other choice but to abort this child and leave this mansion for good.
I returned to my room with tears streaming down my face. I slammed the door hard, falling to the ground. I couldn't hold back the tears, it felt more like a rejection. He just rejected me, didn't he?
I made up my mind to sneak out of the house tonight. Lucky for me, night came just as I had expected. I left without anyone noticing me. I went to the nearby clinic store which was a few meters away from here.
The pharmacist was about to close when I pleaded for him to give me the abortion pill. At first, he refused, but I pleaded with him that my parents were gonna have me dead if they found out I was pregnant.
He was patient enough to listen to my lies which looked like they were true. I made him believe I was raped two months ago while on campus. With that, he decided to give me the drugs.
I didn't waste a second to have the pills gulped. He had instructed me to take one, but I went ahead taking two. Don't blame me.
I waited for the pharmacist to leave while I stayed back to sleep before his store. The gurgling sound in my stomach was disturbing and I knew the drug was working. I held my stomach, and the pain hurt. I slept off, waking up the following morning to see my gown already stained with blood.
I felt my senses activated, realizing what I had done. My heart is pounding hard against my chest. I just killed my child? I f*****g killed my child? Soaked in tears, I made my way back to alpha Julian’s pack.
I was profusely bleeding and there was no car on the road to help me. I stood confused, what am I gonna do? I couldn't contain the sight of the blood which kept rolling down my thighs, staining the ground. I gathered the least strength in me, heading back to the mansion. I could feel my head burning, my eyes grew heavy and I could barely walk.
Fortunately, I got to the mansion. And just when I was about to knock, the door opened. Staring at the figure standing before me, I whispered. "Help... Me."
