Who would expect she would return and seek for revenge after everything they did to her.

“Accept the proposal,” she said softly.

A small smile appeared on her lips.

“This is a good chance,” she whispered.

“I can enter his house, find clues, and learn the truth about my mother…

before I start my revenge.”

In the next room, two children were talking quietly.

“Brother, what did you find out?” Jane asked excitedly.

Felix crossed his arms.

“He has a strong background. He’s single. He has a five-year-old son.

People say he is cold, scary, and dangerous.”

Jane pouted. “But someone bad can’t be as handsome as my daddy.”

Felix’s eyes widened. “Daddy? Why would you call him that?”

“Because he looks like you,” Jane said seriously.

“Can’t you see it?”

Felix sighed. “It’s just a coincidence.

He is Mom’s enemy. She hasn’t even seen his real face.

If she had, she might like him instead of hating him.”

“I want him to be my daddy,” Jane said stubbornly.

“You’re too easy to trick,” Felix warned.

“His face will fool you. Don’t trust him.”

“He’ll be my secret daddy,” Jane whispered.

“Not yours.”

Felix shook his head. “Fine.

If he can’t find our real father, I’ll introduce him to you.

He’ll see my email tomorrow. Clear?”

Jane smiled brightly. “Thank you. Good night.”

As she left, Felix muttered, “Girls…”

Later that night, Ethan was working when a new email appeared on his screen.

Before he opened it, someone knocked.

“Come in.”

Assistant Pei entered.

“What time will she arrive?” Ethan asked.

“Four in the afternoon.”

“Cancel all my meetings after four,” Ethan said.

“I want to see her before she treats Jay.”

“Yes, sir.”

Pei hesitated. “Sir… she changed her gender information to male.

If I hadn’t checked, we would be expecting a man.”

Ethan looked up coldly.

“Get out if you have nothing useful to say.”

Pei stiffened. “Sir, someone checked your background last night.”

Ethan frowned.

“Find out who wants to die—and help them.”

“I tried,” Pei said.

“But the hacker is very skilled. No identity at all.

After I booked the doctor, your data was hacked.”

Ethan smiled darkly.

“Stop interfering. Let’s see what they want.”

“Yes, sir.”

Pei left.

Ethan opened the email.

*Why do you look like me and my sister?

I want you to be my daddy, but you already have a son. How sad.

I sent you DNA. Use it to find my daddy.

When you’re done, report back.

If you fail… you’ll become my dad instead.

Don’t try to investigate me. You can’t.

I was the first. And the second.

Two days left.*

Ethan’s face turned cold.

“The first and the second…”

That meant the same person hacked him last night.

Another message appeared.

*Did you hurt my mummy?

I’m watching you.

If you treat her badly today, your company will fail in five hours.

She already sees you as her enemy.

Don’t make me your enemy too.

Or you will see your own shadow.*

Ethan leaned back slowly.

That threat sounded exactly like him.

Who was this child?

Why was he so brave?

So the doctor had a son…

and that son dared to threaten him?

Ethan’s eyes turned icy.

They would pay.

For wasting his time.

For spying on him.

For making him an enemy.

And most of all—

for daring to say:

“Your company will go bankrupt.”

How dare they.

Chapter 1: Look at Me, You Little Witch
Mainly City Airport Mainly City Airport was noisy and crowded. People were walking fast, pulling their luggage and talking on their phones. Suddenly, a child screamed. A small girl, about five years old, was pushed to the ground. She fell hard and cried out in pain. Before she could get up, a woman grabbed her arm and slapped her face. The sound was loud and shocking. The girl cried even louder. People nearby looked for a second, then turned away. Some checked their phones. Others kept walking like nothing happened. “I’m just teaching my child manners!” the woman shouted when someone stared. She bent down close to the girl and spoke angrily. “Look at me, you little witch. If I ever hear you call Roman your father again, I will beat you to death.” The girl trembled. She nodded quickly, too scared to speak. Her cheek hurt, but the woman’s words hurt more. Just as the woman turned to leave, a calm voice stopped her. “Madam, don’t you think what you’re doing is wrong?” Everyone looked over. The woman who spoke was tall and elegant. She looked calm, but her eyes were serious. Her name was Ava. No one at the airport knew it, but she was a famous doctor known around the world as Dr. VYK. Her real identity was a secret. Ava had just returned to Taihnaiu after six years away. This was the first thing she saw. “You are a woman and a mother,” Ava said calmly. “But you treat a small child like trash. If you didn’t want to raise her, no one forced you. Let her go.” The woman, Betty, sneered. “Why are you interfering?” she said. “She’s my child. I can do whatever I want. This is none of your business.” “I won’t argue with you,” Ava replied coldly. “But listen carefully. If I ever see you hit her again, you will regret it.” Ava turned and walked away. Her footsteps echoed on the floor. Betty stood still for a moment. Her heart was beating fast. That woman made her feel uneasy. She quickly pulled the girl along and entered the VIP lounge. Inside, a man was sitting on a leather sofa, looking at his phone. He was handsome and confident. His name was Roman. “What took you so long?” Roman asked. “Weren’t you just going to the restroom?” “It was nothing,” Betty said. “I met a friend on the way.” Roman smiled. “Is she pretty?” Betty rolled her eyes. “Brother, you’re already interested in a stranger?” Roman laughed. “I’ll try harder. Anything for my Ava.” Betty’s face darkened a little. “You’ll see her tomorrow. I’ll go with you. I want to see what she looks like now. But I still prefer Jiang over Ava.” Roman waved his hand. “Enough. Did you send her away?” “Yes,” Betty said. “A long time ago.” “Good,” Roman replied, leaning back with a satisfied smile. Miss Ava went back to her seat after what happened at the airport. She looked calm, but her children could tell something was wrong. “Mum, why did you take so long?” Felix asked, watching her closely. “I thought you left us,” Jane said, crossing her arms and acting upset. Ava smiled and touched their cheeks. “Mummy would never leave you. I love you both very much.” Felix narrowed his eyes. “Then why were you gone so long?” “It’s nothing important,” Ava replied. Felix shook his head. “I don’t believe you. I’ll find out myself.” “Stop bothering Bai Yu,” Ava said. “He is busy working.” What Ava didn’t know was that Bai Yu wasn’t doing the real work. The real hacker was the small boy beside him, watching quietly. “Okay,” Felix said. “I’ll listen this time. But I hope… it was a man.” Ava blinked. “What man?” “The one who made you late,” Felix said with a grin. Jane leaned forward. “Wait… does that mean I’m getting a father?” Ava’s face turned cold right away. “You both know what happened between your father and me,” she said. “I don’t want to hear that word again. Never say ‘father’ in front of me. Is that clear?” Felix nodded. “Clear.” Jane nodded too. “Clear.” “Good,” Ava said softly. When the plane landed, everything went smoothly. Even though Ava lived simply, she was very rich and powerful. A black car was waiting outside. The luggage was handled quickly, and soon they were on their way to their new home. When they arrived, Jane pressed her face against the window. “Wow! This house is mine forever!” Felix laughed. “Don’t forget, I’m here too. Why would it be yours?” Jane rolled her eyes. “Please. You’re not a man. You’re a baby boy.” “Then let’s see who gets the bigger room!” Felix said. “I will!” Jane shouted. “No, I will!” “Enough!” Ava said firmly. “You are twins. Twins share one room.” Both children groaned. “That’s not fair!” “No more arguing,” Ava said as they got out of the car. “Go upstairs. I need to make dinner.” Felix froze. “Mum… you’re cooking?” Ava coughed. “Ahem… I mean, I’ll order food.” Jane sighed in relief. “Thank goodness! I thought you were going to burn the house.” She ran upstairs laughing. “Wait for me!” Felix shouted. “Don’t leave me behind!” Ava watched them and sighed. “Can’t even one of you support your mother,” she muttered.
