Chapter 2 - Filthy Rich and Shameless

Klasy has been busy with photoshoots and attending events. She is the type who enjoys doing things alone, but she is also up to hang out with friends on her free time. Her weekend is free, so she asked her friends if they want to spend it in their resort in Batangas. Some of them would go, but others already have scheduled activity so they couldn't. That's something she's looking forward for.

"What brought you here on a Wednesday?" Paolo was amazed to see his visitor. He just finished a meeting, and as soon as he went in his office, he saw Klasy sitting in the visitor's lounge busy scrolling on her phone.

"Hi! I didn't call you to surprise you, but you're quite busy. I've been waiting for you for 30 minutes." She complained. Paolo gave her a smile as he put the folder he's holding on the table and sat on the sofa beside Klasy.

"I would have cancelled my meetings if I knew you're coming. How are you?" One best word to describe him is whipped. He admires the woman in front of her. He respects and commends all that she is. And with that, he's willing to wait until she's ready to commit with him.

"I'm fine. A bit busy lately. I went to Singapore last week, and stayed there for three days then mom dragged me with her to an event as soon as I returned to Manila. This week, I'm busy with endorsements, so I'm just dropping by to see my favorite sponsor." She winked at him before her eyes went back to her phone. Paolo looked at the screen and saw that she's reading comments on social media.

"Just let me know when you need assistance, be it money, resources, people, or moral support. I'll provide it all to you." He answered seriously.

"Why do you always take me word seriously? I meant it as a joke because you're always generous when it comes to me and Rowy. We are like your spoiled little sisters. Other people might think we are just after your money." She chuckled.

"People know you're just as rich as I am. Stop talking about money. Have you had lunch?" He got up to dial his secretary's phone.

"I was waiting for you, but I already ordered. Rwoy said she'd drop by because her shooting location is near here. She might be here by the time the food arrives." He nodded, and just told his secretary that they are expecting Rowy.

They had casual conversation on how each other's days were going. Klasy noticed that he's a little bit more relax now than before. He's giving a lot of highlight to how his younger brother is helping him with the load.

"You should start dating. You are always working, Paolo. You are getting old." He gave her a serious look.

"Don't wait for me." She whispered then looked down on her phone again. It was a light moment just until she said those words. She's been waiting for the right moment. She wanted to be sure before properly rejecting him. 

He was in shock. He has been rejected many times before, but it felt real that time. Both of them were surprised when the door suddenly opened.

"Were you doing something? Why the shock experession?" Theo was oozing with confidence when he walked towards their direction. His condescending tone was a mockery to the two.

"Don't you know how to knock?" Klasy can't help but to be cheeky towards him. She gave him a judging look from head to toe, but she's embarassed to find nothing shameful about his look. His slicked back hair and formal suit made him look like a young DON.

"What brought you here?" Paolo's voice was serious. Even Klasy knew she just put him on edge.

"I was going to talk about Mr. Go's proposal over lunch. I see that you have prior engagement. Call me when you're free in the afternoon." He sat on the sofa making it look small with his frame.

"Alright. Would you like to have lunch with..." Before he could finish his question, the door opened again, and Rowy who's always full of energy came in.

She is holding the paperbags containing their food. What a great timing.

"Hello, everyone! Lunch is here!" She exclaimed and took a sit beside Paolo.

"Will this be enough for all of us?" Rowy asked not noticing the cold vibe in the place.

"I-i ordered for 6 people to share some with his secretary." Klasy answered. She doesn't like to share lunch with that arrogant man, but it seems like she has no choice.

"Okay. But she told me she's heading out for lunch with others." Then the food is more than enough for four of them.

"Let's eat. I know everyone's busy."

"I'm so busy, but still tried to find time for you. Why are you throwing tantrums all of a sudden?" Rowy asked when she noticed that Paolo is being cold.

"I'll drive you and Klasy to your location after lunch." He answered seriously. Rowy's brow raised.

"I watched the latest episode of your series last night. You're good at acting." Theo said when he helped Rowy opened the containers of food.

The two of them were chatting and laughing with each other's jokes while Klasy and Paolo remained silent.

"You're still going with us on Saturday to Batangas, right?" Klasy asked Paolo when he started talking again. She silently thanked Rowy for knowing how to handle Paolo at situations like this.

"Of course. I'll go with you. Didn't we agree to go together?" She smiled at him. She would rather keep him as a friend for the rest of their lives than to have him as lover.

While she sees the strong love of her parents for each other, she also witnessed how love ruined a lot of bonds. Her uncles and aunties left and right are getting divorced. She wants relationships to last, so she is being careful of choosing the right one. Even at her age, she is not ashamed to never have a relationship before.

"You should go with us too, Theo. Are you free on weekend?" Theo made himself comfortable in the sofa before answering that. His eyes passed by Klasy's way to sneak on her expression.

"I'm down for that, but am I welcome to join?" He smirked as he directed that question to Klasy. She really hates his guts. He's conceited, he's too proud of himself for unknown reason. She hates the ego he's trying to display.

"You can go if you want to." Paolo looked at her when she used a cold voice to answer.

"Why?" Klasy asked Paolo.

"Is everything alright between the two of you?" He didn't like the affection between them. He's not dumb to not notice.

"What could go wrong, Paolo? It's just our second time of seeing each other. Aren't you used to it by now? People hate me at first then come crawling to me once they get to..." Klasy couldn't take the vanity of that man, she had to interrupt.

"He's far different from you, Paolo. I'm amazed you're getting along." She said. Rowy smiled playfully.

"Something must be up. Anyway, you should join us on Saturday, Theo. I'll send you the location. Paolo and Klasy are going together while me I have to follow because my shoot finishes late on Friday."

"We can go together then, Rowy."

Paolo's brow raised. He didn't like the idea. He doesn't trust his brother for her friends.

"Rowy is going with her manager. You know how famous she is. If her fans saw her with a man, they might..."

"Alright. I'm going alone. I get it, Pao. I'll meet you in the resort." He answered with a little smirk.

They talked about random things. Since they are all in the same range of age, they really understand each other. For the while time, they could feel the animosity between Theo and Klasy. They are specially sarcastic to each other.

"I'll see you on Saturday." Klasy gave Rowy and Pao a sweet smile before turning to Theo.

"You don't have to go if you're so busy." That earned a laugh from him. He's enjoying the savage side of this lady. It matches him so bad.

"It's fine. I can make time." He knows that will piss her off. She rolled her eyes before saying her final goodbye to the people in Paolo's office.

"Take care in driving." His brother is too soft for her. Now, Theo understands why she never gives him a chance.

Few days before the vacation in Batangas, they became busy. Almost 12 people are coming, so the staffs became busy to prepare for their stay. It was a resort privately owned by Collin Family.

There was an overlooking view of lake and volcano. The wind all day long is cool. There are pools and you can go down to the seashore to appreciate the sun. Among all their properties, this is Klasy's favorite. She goes here when she feels burnt out from work, it's basically her escape to place.

Early on Saturday, Paolo texted him that he's already in the parking lot of her condo. He's always gentle with her. He even told her not to rush and to take her time to prepare. Pao was driving while Klasy was busy monitoring their group chat. Some of their friends are already there.

She noticed one person in the group chat that's recently added. Embarassed to be seen by Paolo stalking his brother, she dimmed the contrast of her phone then clicked on Theo's profile.

Just like what she imagined, he's filthy rich and he's not ashamed to display it. Almost all pictures on his account was from his travel to different countries. The man is also more fashionable than she thought. Even they own a clothing line, she didn't expect him to be this extravagant.

He has a bold sense of fashion. He seems to enjoy hiking, swimming, golfing, fireshooting, and almost all types of activities out there. He's not a celebrity or influencer, but he's famous. She saw the number of likes and comments on his posts and it's surprising. What's so amazing with this man?

She scrolled some more until she saw his post about his mansion in Malibu and cruise ship owned by him. She stopped cause it's already bad for her ego. She doesn't want to feel intimidated by him.

"We still have an hour before we get there. You can sleep if you want." Paolo told her. She's busy thinking how different Paolo and Theo are. Pao is so secretive. Although he also posts about his social life, he's not as lavish as him.

"How did you feel when you knew you have a younger brother?" She asked suddenly.

"To be honest, I was mad at first. Knowing that my father cheated on my mom made me hate him. But I saw how he loved her after admitting his mistakes in the past. When my mom forgave her, I had no other choice but to accept what's already here. It turns out that he's a sincere person. Theo is trust-worthy and reliable. I feel like I finally have someone I can share the burden in the company." He smiled when he said the last sentence.

"He's arrogant." Klasy commented.

"You don't seem to go along well. He has a strong personality, and so you are. But he has a soft side to him. He can be obsessive and greedy, but he can also concede. He's not someone I can control because he has his own decisions, and I like that. I am am proud to have a brother like him." Maybe he's really that kind of person, but at the moment, Klasy couldn't see anything aside from his ego and arrogance.
