CHAPTER 27 | Finn –––––––– The next day, I pull into the Brays’ a little after six in the evening. Winter dark has engulfed the farm and I can barely make out the stable’s outline in the shadows. Technically, I could’ve come sooner, but I wanted to make sure Libby was long gone. She’s supposed to be meeting Laurel and Ally tonight and I didn’t want to risk running into her—not with what I’m about to do. I know Libby’s anxious about us taking the next step. I could see it in her eyes yesterday. I’d wanted to reassure her, use my body to promise her we’d never be apart again, but then I got a better idea: We should get married.
