HappyAnniversary!
Elina P.O.V.
It was our one-year anniversary. Ethan was taking me to a new restaurant on the far outskirts of town.
“You’re going to love it, it’s Italian I already looked at the menu online and it’s got all of your favorites,”
Ethan and I met 2 and a half years ago in the hospital waiting room. My parents died in a car accident when I was 14 and my grandfather did his best to take care of me . Up until I was 19 at least , not long after that, he got sick and passed away . Ethan didn’t know me but kept me calm throughout the whole process.
“Why would you want to build a new restaurant an hour away from town? In the middle of nowhere?” I huffed, getting more sick of being in the car the further we went.
Ethan looked down at the gps. “I don’t know but I haven’t seen any bad reviews yet, I just hope the line isn’t long, we got 5 minutes left calm down.” He said with a slight smile.
The same smile that always made me give in when we argued. Ethan was known as a “pretty boy”. His short brown hair that hung a little over his face, not far enough to where you couldn’t see his sky-blue eyes. He had a muscular upper body and was very tall.
“Ughh thank heavens.” I groaned. He knows I hate being in a car for too long. It makes me sick to my stomach.
We pulled up and surprisingly there weren’t very many people there. The restaurant was beautiful, you can definitely tell it was new, very aesthetic. We walked inside and it was easily the most beautiful restaurant I have ever seen. I couldn’t stop staring at everything as we took our seats.
“Welcome to Bello Italiano can I get you started off with some drinks?” Our waitress mumbled, staring at Ethan .
She was very tall but looked very young, she was drop dead gorgeous. She had beautiful long blonde hair and she was very fit. She looked like she was made by a goddess. Ethan didn’t stop himself from staring at every inch of her.
“I’ll have a glass of Chardonnay, Ethan?” Kicking his leg a little to get his attention.
“I’ll take whatever she has.” He managed to stutter out.
After we order and eat our food, I excuse myself to go to the restroom. As I came out, I noticed Ethan standing with our waitress's hand in his. I wait until he sits back down and she leaves and I walk back to the table.
“I just paid are you ready to go?” He asked, as he didn’t look up.
“Yeah let’s go!” As I got up and left him, walking out of the restaurant
“What is your problem now, Elina?” I could hear him yelling from behind me as I got into the car. “What did I do this time?”
I didn’t say anything, I just stared out the window. He’s always been like this, but every time I confront him it’s always the same story: “I’m just being nice”. I get it, I’m not the prettiest. My thin dull dark brown hair never fell in the right spots, I’m very short and pale, and I’m a little curvy. I know that’s not the reason though. I’m a virgin and he’s not.
“Elina, you have to tell me what is wrong in order for me to fix it!” He yells.
“I saw you and her” I screamed, not meaning to.
“Seen what? Me being friendly and nice?”
“You know what? I’m sick of this, let me out!” As I was pulling on the door handle.
“We’re in the middle of nowhere, Elina. I’m not letting you out there is nothing but woods around us!”
“Let me out!” Screaming, this time I meant to!
“How are you going to get home then, because I’m not staying here waiting all night for you to calm down and get back in this car?”
I shook my phone at him “you are such an asshole Ethan” as I flipped him off and he left. Little did I know my phone was almost dead and I had no service. I walked down the road a little searching for service and saw a dirt road to the right. I wonder if it could be a driveway.
