Chapter 1—Lacking of Attention
(Miedge 's POV)
I was born and raised by a billionaire parents, and all of the things that I want is easy for me to get, except for their attention. My parents wanted to have a boy, because for them a boy would be good at running a company. So when I was born into the world, I didn't feel even a little attention from them. It was a bad experience because I overheard from them that if I would be a boy, they will no longer have problems to suffer with.
When I was in the fifth grade my mother got pregnant, I was very happy then, but I was thinking about it if a baby is a boy, what will happened to me? So I always prayed a little girl would come out of my mother's womb.
On the day of my baby sibling's birth, I felt mixed emotions, nervous, scared because a boy might be my younger sibling, although I am happy because I would love have a sister and God heard my prayers. The door bell rang and I immediately opened it, I saw my mother getting out of a car carrying a baby. I saw the big smile on her face when they showed me the baby.
'Sweetheart, this is your brother, meet Vell' she said.
Oh my gosh, it's like heaven and earth have covered me because my sibling is a boy. I was saddened and got excited at the same time because all of the attention will be brought to him all over and I will become a ghost towards my parents.
"So cute, mom, he's a boy, right? Am I right? I am so happy that you did it mom, I know that you did your best to bring him into this world."
After I said that, my father immediately got out of the car and spoke.
"Yes! He is a blessing that your mother gave us from the Lord, he will also hold of the company that your mother and I worked for, one day, hopefully"
As they said that, they are holding the baby together and I could really see the smile on their face that I can only see when they have a large amount of money in their hands, and when the business succeed throughout the monthly basis.
I immediately smiled and went to my room, crying and crying because I knew as if we were just a servant that they would only see if there was a need. But I expected more than that.
When Vell grew up, his behavior got worse and worse, we always fought but I was always scolded because I was the older of the two of us, even though he was the first to do something silly.
Our parents always pay attention to him who goes. Even if I would have a medal for doing well in school, that would not be enough for my parents to see me.
When I turned eighteen, I thought about living with my aunt, my aunt and I were super close, she was my second parent when my parents were away when needed.
She was also mistaken as my real mother because my aunt was known to be so beautiful when she was young, we resemble each other, that's what others told me as well, I am always looking forward to accept every bit of that moments with her, but I know that I will usually take the pride as well if I am going to take that as an opportunity.
Like at school, when I had a contest to participate in school, my parents weren't there, so Aunt Beth was the only one there for me. It was frustrating at first, but I got used to it as usual, it was the thing that I need to encounter as always. I don't want to mind anymore.
Aunt Beth has no children, so she considers me her daughter. She has a friend and they live next door, that is Aunt Corazon, she has a daughter Ela, she is my best friend. Besides my aunt, Ela is also the one I tell about things that happen to me in life, I vent my anger and of course she does the same to me.
It can be said that I consider him more like a sister than my younger brother.
Aunt Beth was happy when I said that I would live at her house, because the school is close to theirs and I will be able to stay with Ela because she also studies there. Tried to talk to my mother about those things, but she is always busy and almost every minute she will have a phone call or sometimes she is in a hurry because she has a walk, she always says that she is going to be late so she has to hurry
I also told my father, I did the same to him, but the situation was the same. "I'm really tired, I'm going to leave this house but nobody gives me even a little attention? Am I really going to be like this for the rest of my life?"
Many people say that I'm very lucky because I have very kind and billionaire parents. No I have been told that my parents have donated a large amount of money to the school I attend, but for me, that is the biggest lie I have ever heard in my life. But I don't pay attention to that, because even so, I love my parents they are still
In the middle of the night I waited for my father and my mother to come home, I would say goodbye so that the next day I would leave for Aunt Beth's house. First I got something to eat from the fridge so I wouldn't be sleepy, I got chocolate's and went to the couch, after a while I heard someone open the door and I saw my father and mother laughing, drunk and hold with each other's arms, three servants immediately helped them to their room.
I just went to my room and rested, but I didn't feel sleepy because I ate a lot of chocolate. I just opened my window, I took my seat next to my desk. I sat there and meditated. I wondered, why my parents are like this? Do I still have value in them? How do young people feel when their parents love them so much?
They are given attention, there is always support, they are always by her side and they are proud because they know that everything is going to be well as much as they expect it.
