619 Words
One day, Prince Herbert of Arthguard came to Kingdom of Rivin to ask for King Andrew's permission. 'King Andrew, I would like to marry your daughter, Melody,' Prince Herbert requested. 'Melody... She's my only daughter,' King Andrew reminded Herbert, 'Are you sure you want to marry her?' 'Positive,' Herbert answered confidently, 'I fell in love with your daughter ever since I saw her.' King Andrew felt better knowing that Herbert loves his daughter. He decided to accept his request. 'She is 15 now. I will accept your request. However you will have to wait for one year as she is graduating school next year,' King Andrew told Herbert. 'Thank you King Andrew,' Herbert thanked King Andrew happily, happy that the King accepted his proposal. One year later, Melody turned 16 and graduated from her school. Since she graduated, King Andrew decided to tell his daughter about his engagement. He looked for her all around the the palace and found her in her study room writing stories as usual. 'Melody?' King Andrew called out to his daughter. 'Yes father?' Melody replied. 'I got something to tell you,' King Andrew said. 'What is it?' asked Melody, curious of what her father has to say. 'You're engaged,' King Andrew answered. 'Engaged?' Melody asked, 'To who?' 'Prince Herbert of Arthguard,' King Andrew answered. Melody was disbelief that she will marry a total stranger. 'You will marry him and become his wife. Promise me that you will do it,' King Andrew said with a serious tone. 'Yes father, I promise,' Melody said sadly. That weekend, Melody and her friends were hanging out in Taipei, Joyce's hometown. She wasn't her usual self and her friends noticed it. 'Mel, what happened?' Princess Joyce brought up the topic. 'You are always happy during outings. What happened?' Princess Elune asked. 'I'm engaged,' Melody simply replied. Everyone was shocked hearing Melody's reply. 'To who?' Princess Angel asked. 'Prince Herbert of Arthguard,' Melody answered. 'What are you sad about?' Heju asked. 'I want to marry for love, not by force,' Melody answered. 'We understand,' Wing Yan said, feeling sympathy for Melody. Meanwhile in Prince Charming Academy, Prince Benjamin was looking for Prince Caleb. He looked for him all day long and found him in the library doing his research. 'Caleb,' Benjamin called out. 'Oh. Hi Benjamin!' Caleb greeted Benjamin. 'Why didn't you tell me about the engagement?' Benjamin asked. Caleb was confused to what Benjamin said about the engagement. 'Of who?' Caleb asked. 'Your brother and princess Melody of Rivin,' Benjamin answered. 'Oh. I only knew it today,' Caleb answered Benjamin's previous question. 'You are invited to the engagement ball this Saturday. Aren't you?' Benjamin asked. 'Yes. I can bring a guest with me as well,' Caleb answered. 'Me too,' Benjamin replied immediately, 'let's invite Aaron and Carlos. Ryan and Oscar couldn't come because they have world book week.' 'Sure,' Caleb agreed with Benjamin's idea. Benjamin and Caleb left the library and went to look for Aaron and Carlos. The bell rang as soon as they stepped out of the library. They ran to their classes. After the school day, they continued to look for their friends, which they are found in the school garden. 'Aaron, Carlos, we got news!' Benjamin called out. 'What?' Carlos and Aaron asked in sync. 'We are invited to an engagement ball and we can bring a guest,' Caleb answered. 'Do you wanna go?' Benjamin asked. 'Sure,' Aaron replied. 'Where is the ball held?' Carlos asked Benjamin and Caleb. 'Kingdom of Rivin,' Caleb answered. 'Your enemy kingdom Aaron. Haha,' Carlos joked. 'Haha,' Aaron laughed sarcastically, 'Very funny.' 'How about we meet up at my palace then go to he ball together?' Benjamin suggested. Everyone agreed.
