Jackson stepped inside along with Mitch, and my feet were frozen. Sally glanced at the scar on my chest and looked away when our eyes met. Her face turned red, and she followed Jackson inside. “Mitch, pour the salt on everything.” The backpack unzipped, and salt crinkled as he took out containers of it. “What is this stuff?” Sally whispered. Get yourself together. I sighed, straightened my back, and joined them. The shed was disheveled, with tools and books strewn around the room. The candles that had been around the room were knocked to the ground and crushed. “It’s a mess. There’s so much stuff.” Sally said while dumping salt all over everything. She craned her head to look at everything, seemly unbothered by the blood-splattered walls. “She must’ve been pretty mad when we left.” I
