Chapter 93

1657 Words

It didn’t take long to get to the pack house. Pepper hurried in front of me, and I hoped Amaryllis wouldn’t be home tonight. The house was crowded as everyone gathered for dinner. The line was long, but we skipped it. Both of us decided to eat at home. Thankfully, Jackson wasn’t in the crowd. We headed up to the office, and I knocked on the door. Pepper yawned and rubbed her eyes. “What a surprise.” Jackson said as he opened the door. He went to the al*ch*l tray and poured himself a glass of whiskey as we came inside. “Want some?” He held up the bottle to us. Pepper shook her head no. “No. I just met your new friend.” The door clicked behind me, and Pepper plopped down in an armchair. “Ah. Then you need some. Here.” He poured me a glass and handed it to. F*ck it, it’s been a long day.
