The rest of the day went smooth. Hugo stayed in the infirmary, much to his displeasure. Lily was brought home and people came in and out of House. Guards for outside, people visiting Hugo. Half of the people I didn’t recognize, but Rhett was okay with them coming in, so I didn’t object.
Instead, I focused on monitoring him. Throughout the day, he continued claiming he felt fine, and against everything in me, I went along with him. But even as we went to bed, I couldn’t help but shake the feeling of something being wrong.
I laid in bed with Rhett next to me, sleeping better than I’d ever heard before. His heart rate was calm and his breath was light as a feather. All of his vitals pointed to a peaceful sleep. Everyone else inside seemed to follow his example.
