A door slammed open, and tiny feet raced towards me. A shrill of joy pierced my ears, making me smile. I turned just in time to grab Lily as she jumped through the air into my arms.
“You’re awake!” She gave me a tooth grin and squeezed around my neck.
“It’s good to see you too!” I gave her a tight squeeze, making sure not to hug too hard.
“Can you see?” She released my neck, grabbed both sides of my head with her small hands, and squinted into my eyes.
“You’re wearing a green shirt.”
She smiled again, lighting up the room. Pepper chuckled and squeezed my arm.
“Everyone’s been waiting for you to wake up. They’ve been worried.”
“Is everyone alright?”
