I better get to work. I fought through the cold and knelt down to grab the bag. The first step of any ritual was cleaning, so I grabbed a handheld broom that I’d made of pine needles. Using the handheld broom, I began sweeping the dirt off the floor of the altar, and tossed all the leaves and pine needles off into the dirt. If I had time to prepare better, I would’ve come during the day and washed the altar with water, lavender, and lemons. But this was an emergency, and just sweeping would have to do. I must remember to apologize to Selene for not scrubbing her altar. Sweeping didn’t take long and moving around had started to warm me up.
